They are large and almost perfectly round. The packaging says to put 1 ball per 2 gallons, so I put in 5 into our 10 gallon tank and still have 5 left over. I rinsed them off really good first then let them soak in water for several hours. For now I just spread them through the tank but I may encircle a plant with them. They look nice and supposedly last a year. My betta seems to like them too and often sits on them. However, I see no change in the behavior from the shrimp.
