## Description

u.go Anywhere Pochade Box was designed for travel from sea to summit and anywhere in between. The products are designed and manufactured by New Wave in Pennsylvania, USA. Each tree's inherent beauty, shown in the grain lines, knots, and varying wood tones, combines with our work handcrafting each pochade box to create an item that is uniquely yours. Patent Pending. Size/Weight: Measuring 6"x8"x1.25," the model is lightweight at 1.35 lbs, with palette included. Materials: Baltic Birch wood with stainless steel and aluminum accents providing strength where needed most. All hardware is non-corrosive. Wood Finish: The Baltic Birch is hand sanded, and finished with New Wave proprietary wood finish for maximum durability. The finish is non-porous, dense, and resistant to water as well as standard artist solvents and mediums. In addition, the finish is crack proof, chip proof, and non-yellowing. Magnetic Components: Strong rare earth magnets are used for the closure, panel/canvas holder, removable side wall for palette cleaning/replacement, and accessory side tray attachment. Friction Hinges: Sturdy 180° range of motion. Tripod Mount: Compatible with universal 1/4" tripod mounts. Palette: High density plastic palette is included. It was a choice of this, a Richeson Sienna or a range of much cheaper options from Meeden. In the end it was a toss up between this large Ugo pochade or the Sienna. The cost of both are comparable by the time you buy the glass pallete and two side trays. The various reviews citing some concerns over quality inspection made me cautious but I needn’t have worried. The build and material quality is more than worth the cost. I was also worried that this might not be big enough, particularly the palette but it’s more than big enough. I’vevattached it to my old camera tripod without any issues and it feels very stable although I might still invest in a heavier tripod at a later date. It is a lot of money but well worth it. I’m in two minds whether I need to get the glass palette as it will add weight but good to know that I can easily swap it out when needed. As you can see from the photos, it has a firm grip on my acrylic paper pad. I’ll report back later once it’s been used but so far very very pleased and glad that I went with this over other options. *update* I’ve since bought the glass palette and side tray which improves and already amazing product. The glass palette adds weight but the side tray is very light. I went with K&F concept tripod in preference to Ugo branded which is £100 cheaper and higher spec.

**Q: What type of tripod is recommended with this product?**
A: New Wave just came out with the u.go Tripod LCS1. This is what they recommend using for their Pochade Boxes. It also works well with other Pochade Boxes.

**Q: what is the panel Capacity? can it go longer than 24in horizontal ?**
A: This is for plein air. While the horizontal length is not limited, the weight is. It will be connected to a tripod. So the answer is yes it can and no you shouldn’t.

**Q: What are the dimensions of the palette space (interior)?**
A: I have the medium size one and the palette that it comes with measures 10.25" x 6.25". The sides of the pochade box due take off a bit of usable space, so its more like 10" x 6".

**Q: Greetings.  Is anyone using this for watercolor?  Thoughts/opinions on using this for plein air watercolor painting?  Thanx.**
A: I would absolutely use this for watercolor.  A watercolor block or paper will easily work and a small travel palette placed on the side tray.

An amazingly well made pochade! Beautiful construction, and great functionality. I think the finish is excellent - and while it is pricey, you can tell it's made of good quality materials. Easy to use - and surprisingly lightweight
