Our favorite!
Sambal brandal (I think my aunt said it translates to "bad boy") is our favorite Sambal. Spicey and delicious - we prefer it over Sambal Oelek. It flavors our Indo food the best! Nasi Goreng, Bami Goreng...Rice and cabbage with beef dishes...SO good!

Reliably good
This brand has been very popular in the Netherlands, where many Dutch people returned to from the Dutch East Indies, after they became Indonesia. It is always good and the Sambal Brandal is nicely spicy. Good choice!

Best Sambal there is !!!!
I was disappointed to have to wait so long for only 1 bottle of this Sambal Brandal at such great expense.

Completely different recipe from Conimex one I grew up with. Very disappointed.
Not the same receipe as one could get in The Netherlands in the 1960's. Not even the same as I found in a specialty international grocery in Northern California in the 80's. I was so excited to find Conimex brand Sambal Brandal on Amazon. My absolute favourite sambal. I have one small jar from 1980's mostly full, because I feared using it up. I just opened the one from Amazon, because I was fixing an Indonesian rice dish. Thrilled to think I could use so much as I could want. But, no. Different recipe. Different ingredients. Different flavour. Mostly just hot now. Lacks depth. Has sugar. No ground Candlenuts, no shrimp spices. ENtirely different condiment. :-(

Not happy!
Jars of both sambal brandal and badjak had their lids ajar. Everything seeped out. What a mess!
