Do any of these cards have subtraction?

You can remove the quantities of frogs to make it balance, also can be used in subtraction. Such as (3 number≠5 frogs), just reduce 2 frogs to make it balanced.

I see that this product was made in China, does it contain lead paint?

I’m not sure. The pieces are all plastic. Solid construction. Survived 2 years in my preschool classroom and still hasn’t been broken. It’s a quality product, like something you would buy at Target or an educational toy store.

Are the cards easy to understand? Can this toy be used in early maths teaching?

Yes, It is simple to understand these cards. Based on the 3 different levels of cards, made the scale balanced. And it suitable for early math education, helping kids to learn maths and number easily.

Would it make sense to purchase a case for accessories and/or scale? What size should it be?

I’m not sure of the size it was a gift and I don’t see it often. However a case would be good as the pieces of the balance are a bit fragile.
