Our knives are custom hand made and represent a unique art form. Our original designs and choice of materials gives you a distinctively different type of knife compared to a machine factory finished knife. Because these are hand made knives, and not machined, you will frequently see imperfections, blemishes, and differences in finish materials that are part of a hand made product. Color variations are normal. For example, buffalo horn is mainly black, but frequently has white areas that are part of the natural horn material. Wood grains can vary from knife to knife. Damascus steel patterns can vary. Thousands of buyers continue to purchase DKC Knives. We are based in the United States and stand fully behind our products. We do occasionally make mistakes, and for that we do apologize in advance. Our knives come in factory box and are typically well oiled. When you receive our knife, you need to wipe it down with a clean soft cloth. We enclose recommended knife care instructions. Thanks for buying our knives and we look forward to having you as a customer. All our knives have our DKC trademark logo engraved on the knife. You must be 18 years or older to purchase this knife. We do not support or condone the use of knives for any type of violent activities. Thanks Paul from DKC Knives.

This is an heirloom quality knife that is equally outstanding for everyday carry!
This. Knife. Is. Awesome.I bought this because I wanted something nice for everyday carry that would also be an heirloom piece I could pass down. I love the Laguiole style, but wanted something hand made in the US. I was a little wary when I saw the price of this compared to others, but I definitely made the right decision.First: Better than pictured! The pattern on my blade was actually quite a bit more defined than what is shown. The sheath was also quite nice, along with the small honing steel (and yes, the sheath has a place to store it). The knife arrived lightly oiled as promised and carefully wrapped. The spring on this is perfect. The snap on this is perfect. The tightness on this is perfect as is the fit within the handle in both positions. Every single thing about this knife screams that someone with a very acute sense of detail and purpose made it and enjoys what they do. Holding this is a treat, the weight is just right and the blade is quite sharp (I'll put a razor edge with a fine stone on it later).Every rivet, every joint - it's almost like this was custom made to my own (really demanding) specifications. I fully expected to give no more than a 4/5 review for this and would have been quite happy at that, but I can not find a single thing that could be improved here, and I'm extremely happy just looking at it.I have my pass-down piece now, I may get another so the kids don't fight over this one when the time comes. Fortunately, I'll get to carry this for quite a few years before the kids get their hands on it.Definitely recommend buying. I know my steel, and this is a very well made piece.

Knives could use better grind, better QC. The rest of this knife is a good value and my dad will like it.
I give 3.5 stars, rounded down. The knife came sharp enough to scratch an itch on your back with an edge grind that was awful. Here's why the grind was awful: the blade is thick, all the way to the point. You know how knives taper toward their edge and get thinner so your 15-20 degree edge doesnt have to be very big? These knives taper from spine to edge but dont bother to to taper to the tip. This leaves the tip as a super thick piece of metal. If you did your edge grind at a constant angle, you'd see a huge edge near the tip. It looks like the grinder wanted the edge to look about right everywhere, so the tip had something huge- like maybe a 30 degree angle- and the transition between that and the rest of the edge was terrible. Anyway, I fixed it with some effort.I like having the tip strong on knives, especially this one for my dad, but it needs to be thinner than full spine width to improve this condition. So, for my knife needing to be sharpened and for the lack of taper to the point, I subtract 1.5 stars. I'd subtract more if I'd have paid more, I have some consideration for this being a "value" - I round down to 3 star because I polished the brass where it had some very minor scratches. No big deal there.

Eye popping artfully made knife.
Artfully made knife with great detail in its workmanship. Stunning from it Damascus blade and its black horn handle. The leather sheath is well made and the small steel that comes with the knife is an added plus detail. The price of this knife is much lower that one would expect to pay for a knife of this quality, and its detailed workmanship. I would highly recommend this knife to anyone looking for a quality made knife with a great price.

Great knife, crap sheath.
I waffled back and forth about a four star or five star review. The knife itself is fantastic. I *love* damascus knives, and this one has more careful scrollwork than is normally found on this type of knife. I looked hard for a tang stamp on the given images, and couldn't find one, so I'm attaching photos which show that. Also, the sheath is barely visible, but they say the sheaths vary. They, however, say the sheath in the photo is representative, and I think that's a stretch. So, the knife is definitely worth the price range given. BUT, the sheath I received is the sheath of a much cheaper knife. It does have the sharpening rod, but no slot for it in the sheath. They also say the knife will probably come oiled. Mine did not. I got a slight discount in exchange for an honest review, so I still am happy with my order. It's a high quality knife with a great look and feel. I still probably want to replace the sheath - which even has a crooked leather stamp in it's too oiled so probably poor quality leather - so keep in mind that cost. Then again, you might get the sheath in the photo.Oh, also, it says the scales are polished micarta, and I guess they are. But, mine had some white areas mixed into the black so that it actually looks a lot like horn. If I were given this knife with no other information, I would assume it was horn.

I love the knife with no problems
I love the knife with no problems. But the sheath is not up to par due to the faster inside has already scratched the side of the knife handle. This was due to pushing the knife inside of the sheath. The metal part inside cause the damage.
