I bought these for my son, who likes to use several different sauces with certain foods. Usually hot sauces, so he likes tiny, shallow bowls. I searched many stores and didn't find anything quite right, so I was very pleased when they arrived from Amazon and they seemed just right. My son really liked them and said they were perfect for how he uses them. Their size fits a few of them at once around his plate or bowl of food.

i'm a botanical and wildlife artist, and i work in water based mediums (watercolor and traditional gouache)i use these to mix colors and for large washes.they are small enough to hold in my other hand while painting, and yet large enough for a nice juicy wash.they're glazed so they are great for watercolor paints, no crawling of the paints in these dishes, unlike the crawling that happens on plastic palettes.they are easy to wash out, non-staining and fast drying. (they also stack, but i don't stack them with paint in them, unless i have small squares of rigid plastic in between)it's gotten to the point that i don't use a larger palette, i just use these little dishes for paints... i label the bottoms with the paint informations: brand, pigment number, color name. and store them in my flat files in between paintings if they still have paint in themmine arrived perfectly packed without breakage

For the last 10 years, since we started rolling sushi at home, I was looking for these type of bowls. It was not easy to find sauce and sushi dipping dishes, so I appreciate the availability of this 3 inch shallow dipping set. They arrived well packed. One important thing though is quality: these dishes are rough in the bottom and could easily scratch the tabletop surface. I decided to keep them but to sand the rough edges with fine sandpaper. I was surprised how easily I was able to sand off the rough edges.

These work perfectly; size accommodates average to larger rolls with no problem. Didn't need 12, a 6 pack would have been preferred.
