Best office chair I've ever owned!
FIVE AND HALF YEAR UPDATE: Yes, I still have this chair and use it daily for many hours. Here's how it's held up. I haven't had any more parts replaced since the last update. I still say it's the best office chair of I've ever owned. It's certainly still in use longer than any office chair I've owned. The arms just will not stay tight. I find my self re-tightening them at least once a week, and even tight they still wobble a bit. That is probably the most annoying thing though. The leather in the bottom and back has held up great. No cracks or tears. Even on the arm rests has held up pretty well but starting to crack right on the edges. Honestly, if this chair had memory foam in the bottom I'd probably keep it another 5 years. I'd say overall I've more than gotten my moneys worth. I'll keep it around, but I'm in the mood for a new chair. I'll see what Serta has these days first. COMING UP ON TWO YEARS: I still say it's the best office chair I've owned so far, but the mechanical assembly again is going to need to be replaced under warranty. It's wobbly again, and pops very loudly every time you sit in it like it's about to break at any time. This will be the second mechanical replacement under warranty, we'll see if it goes as smooth as the first one. I also have a hard time still keeping the screws that hold the arms on tight. I tighten them at least every week if not more often. It's still comfortable however and so far is lasting longer than any office chair I've owned, and I've had many. UPDATE: I forgot to come back and update on the issue. Manufacturer replaced the mechanical assembly AND chair seat under warranty no questions asked! Bumping back to 5 stars. Gas pressure lift still working just fine. Since I have discovered they make wheels for office chairs that use the same wheels as inline skates. They are all over Amazon and I HIGHLY recommend ordering some, they are relatively cheap! I'll never own another office chair without putting those wheels on them. So much better than the plastic casters all office chairs come with and great if you have a hard floor! ONE YEAR UPDATE: 09/04/16: Original review below. I'm dropping a star pending finding out if I can get warranty honored. Just like every other office chair I've owned, the mechanical mechanism gets "loose" for lack of a better way to describe it, so it wobbles from side to side, and this chair has done that too. I posted originally hoping that the gas mechanism would hold up long term, and so far it has, but I've got to contact them about getting a warranty replacement for the mechanical assembly. Depending on how that goes, I may be back dropping more stars. Also, the chair cushion has flattened out quite a bit and not near as comfy as it was when I got it. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I'm a big guy, 6" 2' and about 290#. I have gone through a lot of chairs from the office box stores over the last 10 years. Even bought the big and tall versions they offered. They ALL failed. So much so I started buying the extended warranties offered just to get an exchange replacement in store. 90% of the time it's the hydraulic lift that fails. If it's not that, it's the mechanical part underneath getting wobbly. Padding never holds up. Based on the reviews here I bought this one, and yes its a lot more expensive, most expensive office chair I've ever bought, and it was totally worth it so far. Obviously I don't know about longevity yet, but it's the most comfortable chair I've ever had by several magnitudes. Assembling it, it was apparent the construction was heavier duty than any I've owned before, including the big and tall ones commonly found in the box stores. Make no mistake this is a heavy chair, you'll likely need help assembling it. It feels good and solid and comfy. My significant other is tall but skinny, only 120# and she even loves it so much she's thinking about getting one. We both work on our computers and spend a great deal of time sitting in these chairs, so you can't underestimate the value of a good, comfy, sturdy chair. There is one negative about it. I can't keep the arm bolts tight. I've found I'm having to retighten them nearly every day. I'm going to get some locktite on them and that should take care of it, they might consider including a little sample tube with the chair to put on those during assembly. But the chair is so nice otherwise I'm not even going to take away a star for that one.

Super disappointed :(
I have a Serta Hensley at my job, which I absolutely love, but it does not recline at all. I bought the Jackson for my home office, which is more for fun/relaxing 90% of the time. I was looking for a Serta with maximum comfort with super plush cushioning that I wanted to last for years, lumbar support and something to possibly lounge in at times. Also, one of the bullet points in the "About this item" on Amazon's page state, "ADJUST & RELAX: Ergonomic height and tilt adjustments let you find and lock into your ideal seating position while the tension knob lets you personalize your relaxation", which helped sell me on this chair after doing my research. So, I order the chair, I select the date I want the chair which I know someone will be home for, and then the chair gets delivered a day early. For most people, this probably wouldn't matter, to me it did, now I'm at work, no one is home, Amazon just leaves it out on the open on my front porch for any driver bys to see, so I am worried a porch pirate may help themselves, but luckily it is still there when I get home. We put this together, it does take a little over an hour to get it put together. There are a couple of scuff marks on it, which I was willing to overlook. It is now built, and I am excited to sit down the first time, with high expectations for this chair, and it was such a huge let down. I can say it had a lot of padding, but so much that it felt like you were just sitting on like a balance ball sort of thing, it was not something that I was even sinking into. It was not comfortable at all. The lumbar support that was supposed to move with you, felt strange, and not very supportive to me. The chair felt like a cheap version of what Serta should be. Also the earlier description I posted about it supposedly letting you lock in your "ideal seating position", did not work at all for me. Anytime I tried locking it, it just kept me in the straight up position. This chair has absolutely NO RECLINE to it at all. It barely even does a rocking motion, when you try to push it back, it automatically springs you forward, at least the one I received did this. I loosened the tension knob on the bottom of the chair to the furthest it would go, and the chair still did not let me do anything more than what it was doing already. I don't know if this is the way the chair was made intentionally (I truly hope not), or if I received a faulty one where the tension knob is broken or something is wrong with the spring in it. Anyhow, even if it worked, the padding was uncomfortable, and not plush in the way I was wanting it to be for my purposes, so I am returning it.

So far, so good
One Month Review: First off, the only downside thus far. The arms came a little scuffed up on the plastic. Not too noticeable, but there are definite scuff marks. That being said, that was the only issue with the product. Onto the what you're here to read. I like the chair so far. I've purchased three different chairs over the last 18 months. The first was a placeholder and was okay for the $60 I paid for it. The next one broke after a week, and the third was uncomfortable within a month of owning it. I researched a ton of chairs and they all had complaints of the seat going flat, including this one. So, I decided to take a risk anyway due to the inner springs on this seat. So far, I'm liking this chair. The seat has not compressed on me after a month of use. The rocker seems sturdy and the lumbar support is just the right amount for me. I'm a software developer and author, so I sit in my chair between 9-15 hours a day and I don't get up stiff and sore like my other chair. My only complaint is the arms are a bit wide for my frame and mildly uncomfortable for my 5'8 size. I'm sure a taller man or woman wouldn't have that issue. My feet do hit the floor nicely. A shorter person might have issues with that. I'm also not sure the faux leather will hold up to abuse, but so far, the chair is holding up and the stitching is holding. I'll come back in six months to leave my impressions.

NO TORTUROUS PRESSURE POINTS!!!
UPDATE: 11/17/19 - Owned this chair 7 months and it is now creaking and squeaking very loudly every time I recline back and sit back up straight. I can not recommend. I'm 5 foot 11, 280 lb I consider myself average height and a little on the heavy side. for the past 4-5 years I've been suffering chronic, crippling lower back pain (Spondylolisthesis) from sitting for long work days. I'm an insurance sales agent. Every other average office chair I've ever bought pinches my legs at the outer thighs it's impossible to get comfortable for men (between the legs space). This chair has luxurious space for the outer sides your legs and it's deep (Front to back). The lumbar support and head pillow are perfect. My feet can lay flat on the floor in the lowest height setting of the chair. I sit for six to eight hours a day and every other chair would feel like a coffin and give me terrible pressure points in the seating and lower back area. My lower back pain would have me barely able to walk for MONTHS until phys. therapy and chiropractor treatments restored me to normal. So far, no pressure points, no pain no limping. You might ask yourself why someone would pay nearly $400 for an office chair. If you've ever been literally limping, crippled and crying from excruciating lower back, hip and leg pain (Spondylolisthesis) more then once in your lifetime, there's nothing you wouldn't give to prevent it. If any char will do that, I believe this is it. It's magnificent! I do tend to slide down often because of the deep knee to back length of this chair and have to lift myself up to avoid poor lumbar posture. But that's what I like about it I can move around in this chair cross one leg over the other, face slightly left or right, and the height and width and support is perfect. The lumbar cushion moves like it's on tight bungee cords and is separate from the back of the chair. If you tilt the chair back you don't slide down. I may get a lap desk for my wireless keyboard so I don't have to lean forward to type. I'm also going to upgrade to the rollerblade wheels cuz my office has lumpy, concrete like, hardwood floors and the plastic casters make some noise. If you've ever heard those plastic wheels rolling across concrete you know what I mean. The polyurethane rollerblade wheels are all-terrain and silent. If you're anything like me by this chair. Now I truly know what it feels like to have my @$$ kissed all day!!!

Better than most but still garbage
Bought this chair back in Dec 2015 and here is what to expect. 1: After assembly per the instructions the whole thing is sloppy. The arms were never sturdy and move a lot even if I crank them down tighte. I even tried blue locktight and they still move like they are loose. the seat base on the piston mount is not stable just a little shift from one side or the other it has a lean and end up using core muscles to sit straight so after a work day your sides ache a little. 2: this is not rated to 400Lbs after 1 year the piston blew out and I only weigh 280Lbs. It would not stay up and slowly sank to lowest setting. I had to buy a higher quality aftermarket piston to replace it. 3: they should not use the word leather or even bonded leather in the description because it has zero leather on it at all. The top black layer starts peeling off around 3 years and just gets worse. See photo after 7yrs of use. 4: don’t try use the rocking function you may as well buy a bed. It has no support and you end up laying all the way back. Good things to say. 1: It does have coccyx support. My lower back doesn’t hurt and the end of a work day. 2: it lasted longer than any other chair but not by much. At least the cushioning didn’t go flat on me. I should have replaced it 3-4 yrs ago but I was tired of trying to find a good chair.

Excellent chair!
Very comfortable, and is adjustable to the perfect height for me (6’2"). The casters on this chair are sooo good. Rolling around is effortless on a rug. Be sure to get hardwood-safe casters if you are using it without a rug or carpet. Assembly was a chore, but having a helper (spouse) made it easier and less annoying. I think it has decent value for money. My last chair was a Serta, which had fabric cushions. It was about the same price and lasted about 5 years until it started wearing out badly on the seat. After 7 years, I gave in and bought another one. The first replacement I tried was not good for me as it didn’t raise up high enough. This one is perfect. I think the only issue on this chair might be the faux leather eventually will disintegrate over time. I did get a cover for the back and seat but left the arms bare. Another thing is that this chair is a little resistant to leaning and tilting back. It seems to only tilt back when you really mean to, which could be a pro or con depending on the individual. I will update this review if anything changes.

Definitely not comfortable
I have a chronic pain condition and chairs are a huge thing that I have to search sometimes years to find a good one, only to have them quickly go out of business before I need another one. This is not one of those... It's a decent chair according to my wife, nothing to write home about but its good. The Problem for me it two fold. First the chair cushion (where your butt goes) is just to small. Its like 4-6 shorter than my previous chairs, so my legs hang weird on the chair putting the end of the chair under my thigh muscles instead of near my knees. This is really uncomfortable as it causes those muscles to remain tight all the time since I like to lean back in the chair most of the time so that my back is more comfortable. Also with all their crap about how soft the cushion is supposed to be, that is an outright lie. I have two other far more comfortable cushion chairs for nearly $200 cheaper. Speaking of the back. It's an absolute nightmare scenario if you have any kind of pain issues. There are two literal bars that run down the back in the cushion and they are bent outward so that if you lean back into one, it digs into your back. I cannot for the life of me think of why you would put two bars in the back of a chair so that when you lean back the bent portion of the bars dig into your back muscles unless you are sitting directly up and down. If you are a person who likes to often lean to the side to take pressure off of one buttock at a time (you know if you have pain there) this is terrible. This is the worst back design of any chair I have ever owned. I really wish I had returned it in the window time. This thing is an expensive hit for such a badly designed chair. Overall this might be the perfect chair if you have very short thighs (I am only 5' 11") and like to sit straight up and down all day. Otherwise, I would give this chair a hard pass.

Well made chair
I have had the chair for about a week and I am impressed with the comfort and quality of the chair. The chair is sturdy and well padded. The back and lumbar support is very good. I am 6'2" and 240 lbs. and width and height is perfect for my body type. Most comfortable office chair I have ever used or owned. The chair arrived well packed and undamaged. Very easy to assemble....be sure to leave the screws loose when attaching the back of the chair to the seat. The loose screws allow easy alignment and installation of the arms. When the arms are secure, the other screws can then be tightened.

Great for occasional lounging and work. Not for extensive daily all-day use.
This review is after 3 days of use. Generally I'm satisfied with this chair. This chair is a solid 3.5 star chair. Assembly took strength and close attention to the instructions but was overall pretty easy and took exactly 1hr from delivery to assembly. The arms do wobble but not a huge deal. Seat cushion has a seam that causes some minor discomfort in the thighs but other pluses such as lumbar support and overall sturdiness make up for that. Leather tends to warm up after extended use. Not recommended for extensive daily use. But perfect for occasional work/lounging. If you are looking for a chair you'll be sitting in 8hr a day what are you doing on Amazon in the first place? Get off your butt and test out a few chairs at the store and make sure it's perfect in every way!

comfortable chair
Very comfortable chair. I'm 5F9 and I found the headrest cushion is a little low, kinda annoying on the shoulders, but I got used to it, not a dealbreaker.

Chair defective
I bought this chair as a birthday gift for my son. However the chair came defective. It does not move up and is stuck on down. My son is tall so I decided to spend the extra money and get him a good chair for his long legs. Now I'm stuck with a broken chair that he cannot use and looks like I'm out 600 plus dollars. :( so upsetting
