It's my favorite lip balm
OK so I've been using this for a while now. I got it back in September and it's August now. I still have no idea if it's actually helping with preventing cold sores. I haven't had one yet (I usually get them once a year so it'll be soon if it's going to happen) but I do want to say that I pick this out to take with me every day (I have a tonnnn of different types of lip balm lol) because I love it so much. It has a nice kind of vanilla-y scent and it's very moisturizing and glides nicely on my lips. Just be careful not to put on too much because there is a white cast. But you won't need much.Im also glad that it comes in a pack of 3 because I carry it with me everywhere I go so I've either lost or washed several lol.It gets soft easy when it's in your pocket and (like all twist up lip balms) it will start to screw upwards under the lid. So if it's hot out and it's been in your pocket be sure to screw it back down before applying it. I've had one completely break off because I didn't do that. One way to help prevent that is to put it in a tiny zip up pouch and put that in your pocket (if you like to carry it in your pocket) so that it protects rhe twist up part from.veing manipulated through being rubbed around in your pocket.

Love this. Minimizes cold sore outbreaks. Doesn't stink. And also shortens the duration of a cold sore.

Good ingredients
Docosanol is one of the newer over-the-counter ingredients proven to shorten the duration of herpes cold sores, which are the ones that pop up on your outer lips and start with a tingling sensation to warn you. (The ones inside your mouth have a different cause, and are called canker sores.)Docosanol is the same ingredient in Abreva. Lysine is also known to be effective. This lip balm is the only one I've found found with both ingredients. I would have preferred an unscented lip balm but at least this one is pleasant. If you suffer with these blisters, you should also ask your doctor for a prescription for Valacyclovir pills, to be taken at the first tingle of a new sore. Fairly inexpensive since it's available as a generic. You can try downloading the GoodRx app to find a better price and bring that to your pharmacy. Also, otc lysine supplement pills from any health food store or Amazon, at least 1000 mg per day, and an anti-inflamatory like Advil. Hit it with all of these and you may be able to stop a sore before it progresses to open blisters. It can drastically shorten recovery time and lessen the size of the sore. Lysine is cheap enough that you can take it every day to prevent future sores, or at least drastically lessen the severity. Hope this helps!

Reduce cold sore duration
I still get cold sores whilst using this, but they are smaller and do not last very long. The balm itself isn't as moisturizing as other brands. The scent in delightful.

Good stuff, order frequently.
I order this twice a year it seems like. Works great because it “sticks” to your lips. I only use it after I’ve gotten a fever blister, otherwise for me, it’ll make my lips peel a layer and it hurts.

Love this product!
So, I’ve dealt with cold sores my entire life. To top that off, I have insanely sensitive skin, chapsticks, lipsticks, lip balms (yes including plain aquaphor) all make my system react and I end up with cold sores. Basically if it sits on the lips, I get a sore- on top of the usual colds, allergies, weather changes and stress. THIS product however, does not! Not only does it NOT make my body freak out, I’ve genuinely noticed a quicker healing time, smaller sores, less scaring and “redness” throughout the recovery time! I’m pretty sure this will now be my forever go-to chapstick both with and without cold sores!

Works very well
Very good, I always keep some in my house/ bags. I combine the chapstick with Licorice drops (sold by NOW foods here on Amazon) I found Licorice is amazing (make sure it actually is made with Licorice, lots of companies use Anise instead). My lips have not felt that good for years. Or try rubbing Juanola pastilles on your lips, immediate relief against the itch!
