Solid Construction
Used this to replace a plastic version from another manufacturer because the plastic had broken off at the screw mounts. I liked this over the other cast metal I found because the socket is all one stamped piece and if anything would bend rather than break under the stress of pushing and pulling the plug in and out. Hinge has spring with plenty of strength and there is a pin on the inside of the cap so when it is open it mates with the plug notch so the plug won't fall out. Wished it had a rubber seal for the cap, but even if some water does get in there it should not affect the connections. The connection screws have small plates to insert the wires behind but due to my wire size I had I used spade lug crimp connectors to attach the wires, but had to cut off all of the plastic lug insulation (replaced with wrapped electrical tape) because I could not stuff it all into the socket due to lack of depth. 7-wires is a tight fit.

Not Standard?
The blades are too large to be able to fit a Reese blade connector into it.update: I have raised it from one to 3 stars as it does fit if you keep working on it. We will not use this as it looks rather cheap for our use.
