Good damage coverage and great bond to the plastic
So far so good. It’s a great fit for our cracked tail light and it’s much better than the thin red repair tape that is out there. This is a very conforming thin plastic that provides good coverage for repairs. I used the one strip for two of our tail lights this time around. I did pre-clean the taillight with alcohol for better adhesion. I did not cut to the shape of the damage - just kept it square / rectangle shape for the repair. Easier to measure and cut, plus it gives a more clean look on the tail lights. You can barely see the repair patch unless you’re really close to vehicle.

Good adhesion, blends in.
I broke my backup light because I was distracted... I removed the loose plastic and cleaned the surface with isopropyl alcohol for good adhesion. Cut a piece of the 3M lens repair tape and then applied it making sure to get all the edges down by rubbing them down well without cracking more plastic; I will replace the lens in the future. Durable? Time, rain, heat, sun, and cold will tell, if I become complacent and don't replace the whole taillight lens. Waterproof, it's plastic tape with good 3M adhesive, and from my experience with 3M, it should work well in the rain. For ease of cutting, I quickly cut with a pair of old scissors. Value for the money, that is a yes. Much cheaper than a ticket.

Transparent. Dull so it is less visible in repair.
Quite strong and transparent. Does not tear, so scissors needed. Smaller than expected.

Works for small repairs
The product was as described but too small for my repair. Would work for smaller repairs.

Good Adhesion and Color, No Cleaner Provided, Its a Mistake to Cut to the Shape of Break
I repaired a broken brakelight lens with this stuff. Here are my impressions: -- WHAT SIDE IS THE FILM ON: Its difficult to determine what side the removable film is on. They should put labels on it so it's easy to see. -- DONT CUT TO SHAPE OF BREAK!: The instructions state to cut out the film in the shape of the break with a 1/2" overlap. This is a mistake. It's better to leave the film rectangular as it will then better blend with the other lines of the brake light. -- NO CLEANER PROVIDED: The instructions specify a 3M pre-treat on the lens, but nothing is provided in the kit. Not even a tiny little dropper, which is all that is needed. -- TRACE ON WRONG SIDE: The instruction states to trace the broken section on the 3M material. If you happen to trace it on the film size, since it's impossible to tell, you will trace it backward,s and it won't cover the break properly -- COLOR MATCHES: The material color is a good match for the brakelight lens. -- USE ALCOHOL TO CLEAN: Since the kit is not provided with the specified fancy 3M cleaner, I used alcohol to clean the lens before applying the 3M material. That seemed to work fine. -- ADHERES WELL: The 3M film adheres well to the brake light lens. Time will tell if it prevents wanter infiltrating. -- AGRRESSIVE TACK: The adhesive is very aggressive, but with a small area of an edge attached, I was able to pull it off to reposition, and the area that contacted seemed to still adhere when I reapplied it. CONCLUSION: Good Adhesion and Color, No Cleaner Provided, Its a Mistake to Cut to the Shape of Break

Now You See It, Now You Don't!
Totally focused upon not backing into a group of people I backed into a humongous truck! Didn't leave so much as a scratch on the truck, but broke one of the tail light covers on my astro. They're big, and so expensive to replace I decided to try this tape. It was shipped quickly and I've had it for weeks, but I rarely drive and didn't have a chance to try it until yesterday. ZOMG it did SUCH a beautiful job! If it peels off during a rain I'll be back to remove stars from my rating, but if it's fairly weatherproof this tape is amazing. The cracks and loss of plastic were huge, but you'd have to look very closely to see that it was ever broken. SO glad I went this route. The packaging says to replace the cover as soon as possible, but I plan to delay for as long as possible. UPDATE: It's been a bit more than three months since I applied this tape to my tail light. Wanted to do an update since most of us need to cut corner$ whenever and wherever possible in this day and age. This red tail light repair tape is FANTASTIC! One of the best amazon purchases, ever. The astro is always parked outside, the rear faces the afternoon sun (in the tropics) all day, every day, we've had massive rains and, recently, rapid temperature changes, and it's still good as new. The tail light on a chevy astro is huge, and half of mine was crunched down the middle. Large chunks are missing. but this tape makes it look like it's never been broken (unless you look closely), and there's probably enough tape on the roll for at least two more repairs. I may never need to replace this light cover. All for two bucks and change! Still highly recommended... UPDATE: it's been almost two years since I first used this tape on my broken xl chevy astro tail light. one roll was enough to do the light twice, with a bit left over. bought a second roll for back-up; haven't had to use it yet. this tail light tape has had no protection from the brutal tropical sun and torrential rains, but the first job lasted more than a year, and the second is still looking good. almost didn't buy this because it seemed like one of those as-seen-on-tv too-good-to-be-true deals. if there are things you need more than new tail lights, this tape is most definitely the way to go.

Easy, sturdy repair!
Someone “bumped” me in a parking lot and went away. I had no idea for several days when I happened to notice white light leaking through the red stop light on the driver’s side. My 2018 Corvette Stingray had never had so much as a scratch and I was very annoyed! I checked the price for a new stop light lens and they were $400 each! The chip was a small triangle at the bottom right side of the lens, I cut the patch to cover the sides of the break by a half inch and pressed in place. It’s been several weeks now, the chip doesn’t show at all and I have to look closely to spot it myself. I suspect that I’ll eventually bite the bullet and buy the OEM replacement, but the little patch is doing a great job! The kit contains clear, orange, and red lens material more than enough to cover most chips. The lens material is thick enough to be strong, thin enough to sculpt to curves and comes with a strong adhesive painted on the inside of the lens, cut your shape, peal the tape off and stick the patch on. I highly recommend this product!

Good Adhesive
Adhesive is very good. I applied the tape to my right rear tail light last October and it's still in place after a South Dakota winter. The red color faded to clear, so I had to re-apply this spring. Considering the vehicle is parked outside, that's probably to be expected.

You get what you pay for
If you’re as sick of Chinese knock off tape as I am, buy this. 3M know what they’re doing - it’s worth the little extra it costs Successfully repaired a leaking carpet cleaner, and am about to tackle a Dyson vacuum with failed seam welds
