Use these in additon to other sound deadening methods and it's a huge difference in sound quality IF your car doesn't already have good sound deadening and gaskets around the speaker. Don't listen to the fools who installed them wrong somehow, it won't cause any issues or distortion to your speakers UNLIKE the one piece foam ones - which I cut a hole in because your speakers are designed to breathe freely -- MIKE THE ADHESIVE FOAM DOESN'T GO ON THE SILICONE INSERT lol its supposed to go on the sheet metal of your door across from the rear outlet ... and the only reason it would make your speakers sound like it was coming thru a tin can is because you smashed the outer gasket into your speaker's cone/surround when installing your door skin.
