Growing up one of my best friends bought a car and it had a powered bass tube in it. The sound that it produced was just amazing and I will never forget it. Bass tubes push out some of the punchiest bass available. I personally love punchy bass that is deep and clean. Bass is an integral part of any good audio system, and the Rockville Bass Blaster amplified subwoofer tubes will add power and impact to your car audio system. The cylindrical shape of the enclosure helps focus the motion of the bass pressure so it maximizes that punchy output from both the woofers face and the tuned rear aero port. **Q: Do you have to ground this in order for it to work or can you just hook it up to a peer cord/cable?**
A: Needs a power ground.

**Q: Do i run an ignition switched source to "rem" so that it doesn't drain the battery?**
A: Yes you need to run a remote line.

**Q: What size power wire does this require?**
A: The size wire will depend on how much power the amp puts out.  This will run on 12-16guage speaker wire for best results.

**Q: is this waterproof?**
A: No... this is not designed for Marine applications. The electrical connections are all exposed.

it took a bit to dial the subwoofer in, but once it was I was quite impressed by the performance of this 6.5" subwoofer. To note this will clip if the volume (gain) is turned all the way up and the head unit volume is too. Once tuned, it was able to hit 40hz tones without any issues ie clipping/distortion. While this isn't the loudest subwoofer out there it's a great entry level option or a affordable way to balance out a system. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a cheap subwoofer with minimal expertise needed. While so far this sounds like a 5 star review, I knocked off one star due to the lack of dummy proofing. There should be instructions on how to use the included straps and how to adjust the gain properly (as we have seen with other reviews where it was setup incorrectly)
