In hindsight I should have known better - cannot be used in microwave or put in dishwasher so it's really only to carry your food unless you eat cold. The little flip to open is necessary to be able to lift the lid, however one cannot transport soup in it. But soup I guess one would not want to eat cold anyway. Therefore: very good looking well manufactured item for limited ways to use I find, and for that too pricey.
