Review: If you are doubting this product like I was initially then read the reviews. I would recommend this! - I am first off going to clarify that I am using this product for an exercise alternative (for now). So what I mean is I live in United Kingdom and with the winter coming the weather is getting a lot more colder and typically wetter too. So going out to exercise, which is what I normally do is starting to become a struggle to keep up now. To rundown the story mode of the game the “Adventure Mode”. It is very good. Very immersive. The joy-cons pick up the movement very well to make the game feel that bit more better. Also with the variety of levels. 20 worlds with a total of 100 levels! The story just goes on and on. The games story mode also features 4 different difficulties. I am currently using the 2nd hardest difficulty. To give me a challenge, which thats what it specifies when choosing the difficulty level. Even though I am taking my time. Enjoying the game and replaying the same level sometimes up to three more times after finishing it just so I can work up a sweat while also looking around and taking in the games brilliant colours and flowing game. I actually to be honest when buying this game. Even for its price I wasn’t expecting much. This game has blown me away. Well worth it. Especially to keep fit no matter the weather. I use RingFit Adventure mainly for the exercise, so I use the mini games section of the game a lot too. The amount of exercises and sets that they have to offer are quite surprising actually. There are many to chose from. Even down to the minor detail of exercises that suit the part of the body that you would want to use it for. You can even make custom exercise routines designed for you, or however you want. With the option to save up to three custom sets. The exercises in the mini games section of the game also have 2 different difficulties. So once you get used to Causal, you could test yourself and then it up to hardcore! A cool feature (while I think it is) is that you can even set alarms to go off on you’re Nintendo system to alert you to when it would be the best time to exercise next or you can even set your own schedule. With a 7 day planner. It even lets you select an exact time so if you wanted to narrow it down a bit more you can. I think personally for what the product offers. If you would be using it for exercise then it does work up a real sweat. I use it two maybe three times a day. Depending what happens for me in the day. Exercising for now between 30 minutes to an hour each session. It is tiring by the end of the day. Another thing as well is I also like the tracking feature to the game as well. The game tracks you’re daily stats like calories burned, minutes working out. And even down to how many exact amount of each exercise you have done in that day. It even lets you track day by day stats to compare as well. Also it keeps a record of how many of each exercise you do all together and sets you challenges to complete a specific amount of total exercises, so then it rewards titles for you’re profile on the game. It is very motivating to see how much I did in a day, each day and overall as well. Short rundown: I would definitely recommend this for the exercise and fitness side of the game. The game is very motivational in itself. It brings you back again and again. And also it keeps you wanting to go on and on until you are out of energy. But also you can’t forget the games bright colours and flow to the game. It can make for quite a relaxing game as well. If you don’t want to push yourself and go on the harder difficulty levels. 5 stars!
Review: No you can't break it, yes it's fun and will get you fit - Long-term boxing fitness player here. I run around 25k per week and wanted something to do upper body that didn't involve expensive gym fees and the hassle of getting changed etc. Boxing served a purpose, mainly for me stretching and getting my arms working, and 4 months in I decided to try ring fit. Initial impressions were that this started development on the Wii, but it took a very long time to make it to market and hence here we are on the switch. It makes sense, this would have taken an incredible amount of testing and refinement. Once the rather silly story part is done and you get cracking, I'm surprised to say the workout is really rather good. I had to stick with it, the first two weeks didn't really engross me that much, but once the RPG elements, music, skill tree and power ups (smoothies) were introduced it really scratched my gamer itch. I've always said that gaming doesn't actually achieve anything - you play for hours, finish a game, watch an invariably pants cutscene and it's over. Job done. Net gain is zero, just entertained for however many hours. This is different. I get the game buzz, but am constantly achieving something. The entire game is based around resistance training with the use of the ring, and core workouts to strengthen your body as a whole. Making a smoothie? You'll have to compress the ring for that. Navigating the stage selection screen? Turn the ring to move. Jumping over a gap? You'll have to squeeze and hold. And all the while it's burning calories and giving you a workout. Once I was hooked, I'm now doing it in-between runs. I select a mixture of workouts, which you're forced to almost due to the different enemy types. And currently the Russian twist and boat pose are my go-to for battle and abs/core workout. To put things in to perspective, yesterday I did 90mins and was aching after. This morning I am a wreck. And that's on difficulty level 22. This is changeable as well. You can also change the jogging on the spot for the traversal levels, so that it's quiet and less impactful on the floor (or neighbours). Nice touch. Currently at level 92 I'm a little concerned it'll all be over soon enough, having to revert to the rather dull sets, making it more of a chore. But I'm hoping there will be some replay value, extension or DLC on its way. Overall Nintendo has really done it, a fun game with enough depth and a great workout. And no I've tried as hard as I can and I cannot break the ring, just make sure the joycons are charged, as they vibrate lots so run out quicker than you'd expect.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this be used with my original game boy?**
A: Absolutely. Place the game card in the battery slot of your gameboy, put the ring on the floor, put the gameboy in the ring, say the magic words (alexa order me a switch on amazon) whilst simultaneously patting your head, rubbing your tummy, and it will 'magically' turn your gameboy into a switch so you can play it. It will also 'magic' around 300 quid out of your account!

**Q: Can this be used with Nintendo switch lite?**
A: Only if you buy separate joy con controllers and a stand to place your lite on as you can't connect to your telly with the lite.

**Q: How big is the joy con leg strap? Size of leg it'd fit. etc.**
A: I’m about 6ft1” and chunky as anything! It fits around my thigh fine. The only issue I’ve had with it is it occasionally sliding down my leg.

Other than that it’s quite elastic.

**Q: Can this been used on wii original**
A: No, this is an accessory and game for the Nintendo Switch, the latest Nintendo console.
You need a Nintendo Switch to play the game, it will not work with any other console.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great fitness game that gets a sweat
*by M***E on 16 November 2019*

Not gonna lie, am an overweight nerd who wants to get fit and I'm somebody who finds the gym gets boring quick and am not much of an outdoorsy person, but I'm a huge gamer so something like this appealed as I don't mind childish looking games. As a fitness game, it's great, it gives you a good and varied work out and it works you into each work routine and provides good fitness and health advice along the way. You also have the option to practice certain workouts and also a variety of mini games to beat your own (or a friend's) top score. The way the Adventure part of the game is designed works well to keep you in a good work out with the feeling of achieving goals each time you make it to the end of a level. As an interactive game, it works nicely because the controls are very responsive and of course you run to move, which means if you're not lifting those legs, neither is your character. It works as a nice warm up before you getting in monster battles. Monster battles are more designed to a mix of muscle and yoga-based workouts whilst the bits in between help with your cardio. The difficulty level can be adjusted to your fitness level. Meaning if you're unfit as me (and I am very unfit), you will be eased in, still break a sweat but not feel like you're about to keel over. Though I cannot comment fairly on the hardest difficulties for anybody who is fit. There is also a nice touch, there's a silent mode that adjusts your workout so that you don't disturb anybody who might be in the room below you. It also has an alarm to remind you of your workout schedule even if your Switch is turned off. You can even do workouts with the Ring Fit with your Switch in standby mode so you can still record what you do if you so decided so you aren't confined to just the game. They've definitely put an awful lot of thought into it. As an RPG and it is an RPG and I'm an RPG gamer so I'm gonna weigh in on that. It's "okay". The Adventure feels very much gauged to young kids, yet at the same time I don't think they're the target audience, but I suppose at least it's accessible to people of all ages. The character called "Ring" is very annoying and I'd probably have hated him as a kid too, but I can appreciate the workout based puns at least, as somebody who lives on bad puns. Drageux looks like he's on steriods and the story is very cheesy and very basic. It's not going to win any prizes for story or characterisation. However, in terms of mechanics, you've got a fair number of the basics you might expect from an RPG, you've got a battle system, you've got items you can use, you've got a shop where you can buy and sell stuff, you've got gear, you've got levelling and stats, you can customise your skill loadout and you have crafting. Your skill loadout choice is meaningful, because there is a rudimentary elemental weakness system in the battle system (based on colours) and different skills offer different potencies and scope in attack. I think the RPG element to it I think demonstrate the kind of depth a game using this control system could have. To that effect I hope the RingFit is not a one-game type deal. I'd be interested in future games that take it the next step further, mask the "fit" aspect more to have a more detailed in depth RPG element to it as the foundations are there. Then it'd feel less like you're playing a fitness game, but a game with plot and elements to drive you to move on. I feel like if we were to see something take that direction, it may trick more gamers into exercise. I think something like Final Fantasy Mobius could be adapted to this control system because it has a linear progression between fights like Ring Fit Adventure has, it has turn-based battles that work on interactive input (in Mobius's case it's the touch screen, but that could be adapted). At least this is the kind of potential I see for the controllers.
