This is a high quality, simple, straightforward book on mindfulness for beginners. The book is short and engaging and you will finish it quickly because it is so full of great and relevant advice. I wanted the book to be longer; but then realized the greatness of the book is how short and simple it is so the reader may more easily begin to practice mindfulness. Valid but seems to struggle for content
Itโs a great book, and I agree with it extensively. It does seem, however, that some of the acronyms are there as filler and are very difficult to remember. I highly recommend this book as an introduction to mindfulness and the benefits of it, though.

Being Mindful Equals Being Happy, Healthy and Successful
Being in the present and taking notice of the environment, what is happening to you and noticing your emotional state are all traits of mindfulness. Being mindful helps you to be more productive and successful in life, not to mention making you a happy person that is good to be around. The first chapter of the book defines mindfulness and discusses how it relates to many religions, including Buddhism, and society in the western hemisphere. It helps relate the definition to today's lifestyles and how to use mindfulness as an advantage. The importance of living in the present, as opposed to dwelling on the past, is discussed. The book emphasizes acceptance of self and having the ability to choose and follow through with choices. The book explains how mindfulness helps you to become a whole, happy and successful person and how to be mindful in practice. It gives you exercises to enhance mindfulness in your life including breathing exercises, mediation, observations and more. The book goes on to explain how mindfulness affects life, relationships and business dealings. The book provides useful videos and links to other materials to bring home all the techniques it imparts.

Highly Recommended to Practice Mindfulness!
Mindfulnes is important in our daily life and activity. Practicing mindfulness improves both mental and physical health. I'm lucky because I got this book that helps me to know more about mindfulness. In this past few days, I felt the stress of my work that I really need to take a break and maybe a vacation for a while. But my cousin recommend this book to me to have insight about mindfulness that will attract positive vibes in my life and it will also help me to reduce and become stress free. After reading this book, It made me realized the essential of having peace in our mind to create positive impact in our lives. This book is one of the best book, I've read so far. It has complete information that really helps you to have happy and successful life with mindfulness. It also contains steps and techniques how to practice mindfulness in an easy way that is right and fit for all beginner's who wanted to practice mindfulness. My cousin was really right. This book helps me a lot to be stress free and also change me to become a better and positive person.

Very helpful
The information is presented in an easy to read and informative way. Not a lot of unnecessary filler just to take up space. I enjoyed the book and feel it helped me to understand myself better and improve the way I look at day to day situations. Definitely recommend.

Shallow
Like so many books that are published today, this is just a compilation of information you can easily find on the internet with a little bit of looking. I suppose it's useful in that way, but very superficial.

Not Pretentious and Quite Helpful to Focus and Relax
I purchased this book after hearing the term "mindfulness" over and over in the media. I don't practice any kind of meditation or yoga, but thought perhaps this may be a way to help me relax. It worked. I tend to move at hyper-speed, and this has taught me to slow down after readiing the book just once. It explains a little bit of the history behind mindfulness, and how to "stop and smell the roses". I tend to fidget and by focusing I actually spent an entire evening not doing so. Life is fast, and I will reread this again in about 2-3 months to refresh my memory about what and how I should be doing it to accomplish a sense of peace and tranquility. It doesn't seem to be pretentious or too complicated. I downloaded samples of 3 ebooks and read them before deciding to purchase this one and I am glad I did. I have since purchased Yesenia Chavan's Meditation for beginners and will review after I read it through.

Mindfulness for Beginners trains your brain
I have no experience with meditation and lead a very busy life. So for me Mindfulness for Beginners is a great introduction into the wonderful world of mindfulness, awareness and attention and to learn its basics with really helpful tipps to train your brain in your everyday life. The author's style is very engaging and easy to follow. Her enthusiasm for the importance of mindfulness is infectious and inspiring throughout. Especially the tips for work and business are very useful. I am so happy to find this book.

An truly simple and invaluable book
Easy to read, easy to understand, well organised and very convincing. I particularly liked the many exercises proposed and the advice given that allowed me to set achievable goals and develop a practice that is enriching my life every day. I warmly recommend this book to anyone who feels that their life is moving at the speed of light and they have a hard time remembering any actual moments of it.

Mindfulness 1st ever review
This is my first ever book review, never had the courage or inclination to write something before. A massive thank you to Yesenia Chavan. She writes like she cares for your wellbeing, her soothing and easy to read style enables one to fully engage and understand the message she conveys throughout her book. Lots of practical steps you can start incorporating in your life immediately. Having read this book within an hour then read it again to ingrain it mindfully. I downloaded her book " meditation for beginners". Will start reading that soon. I have also subscribed to her mailing list and downloaded her Stress Busting smoothy recipes. At last a self help book that not only gives you a good Incite into the disadvantages of mindlessness , but gives you some easy to follow practical steps to becoming mindful in every aspect of your life as you live it in the here and now.This book is a god send for anyone who has co dependency disorders, and in particular that from years of mental and physical abuse of which I suffered greatly as a child. My monkey mind has sabotaged most of my life and filled me with much anxiety stress and negative self judgement. This does take some practice but after reading this book I have already started to take more control over my thought processes and in turn starting to feel less anxious, rather than let an event start my racing heart, which often leads me down the dark alley of the same result, usually panic fear, and defensive fight, as I am a reactive person. I now try to reason and think things through before reacting and engage myself more in the now, rather than listening to damaging chatters of the past and possible future worries. I wish I had read of this book years ago, but hey as of the here and now. It's sure is better late then never.
