A little smaller than I wanted but it does throw a considerable amount of light. Our use will be for the house. This is a perfect lantern for campers. Lightweight and easy to carry around. Good buy for the price

I’m not sure what I expected but the lamps were smaller than I thought they would be. We adapted to them quickly as a trial proved they were indeed helpful in the dark during our trial simulation. Handy ad well as a small footprint allowed us to use them practically everywhere inside and outside the house. I can see these lanterns for use camping and hiking on the rare occasions when I might want to take a stroll at a campground especially to use the facilities at night. These diminutive lanterns will likely helpful when I need to check my yard at night in areas not served by porch or patio lights when I prefer not to trip or fall. Can a flashlight serve that purpose, too? Sure but most flashlights can’t be hung and where would you hang them if you suddenly need two hands to carry something in addition to the lantern, which can be carried over my wrist. Easy peasy!

I bought this as an open box item to replace an older Coleman lantern that did not have an LED bulb. One thing you should know about the removable base is that it does not screw on, it twists to lock (and unlock), then you just pull it off. Overall brightness is OK, it's perfect for a tent or for lighting up a cooking area, etc. I've always kept one around the home for power outages, because I know that the batteries will last for days if needed. Obviously, there are plenty of cheaper alternatives available. However, I like the classic look, and this design has been around for a long time. It's good value for money, providing you don't spend a fortune on the batteries.

Ordered this after an electric blackout where I live. It's small, case is plastic but works fine. Not a flashlight, but will supply needed warm light if needed.

It is unknown how bright it manages, because we could not get the bottom off to put the batteries into it. Not only that….the top comes off if you look at it. The whole thing is very flimsy, except of course for the place one is supposed to put the batteries in it. Coleman was always a great brand, but this thing is a joke. Returned post haste!

Fine. Made with cheap plastic but shines brightly.

Will work great for when the lights go out again and for camping.

Great for camping. Lots of light. Smaller than I expected but easy to pack.
