Best vinegar based BBQ sauce out there!
This is the only type of barbecue sauce we use in my home. Recipe has never changed so why mess with perfection? It’s the type my parents always used and I will always use as long as it’s available! It has a wonderful tangy flair without being and overly sweet.

Memories of mom’s cooking
My Mom would use Open Pit barbecue sauce when she would make grilled ribs. It was a staple for barbecue’s back in Chicago. Only way for us to purchase is through Amazon. Can’t find in Montana. Yes there are lots of other sauces available, but this has a unique taste. We even mix with other sauces for a variety.

Sweet and spicy.
This is a great all purpose BBQ sauce: sweet and spicy. Good for chicken, pork, and beef. Also add it into chili and other sauces for a little zing.

Best BBQ sauce out there
Love this stuff, wish I had taken a picture of the ribs, as well as chicken wings, we ate earlier this week. Just looking forward too much to the tasty treat that is Open Pit

Always Loved This Stuff
Best thing was finding at all. And, to quote a TV show, "The Price Is Right!".Very hard to find locally. Even places that say on the web that they have, don't have it in local stores. I've been known to clear the shelf when I was low on it. I first started using it in the 1960s or 70s. When I moved to the East from the Midwest, I sometimes had to stock up when I visited home.Unlike many BBQ sauces, it's not very sweet and has a nice, but not over powering, bite to it. I like spicy foods and use Open Pit on charcoal grilled foods as well as oven and even crock-pot roasted foods. Great on ribs, chicken and roasts, among other things.

Good BBQ sauce
I think it’s a good tasting sauce with a little spicy flavor. Not as thick as many others.
