Brush Strip Retaining screws all loose ready to fall out
Hi I got this boot having great hopes for it, excellent concept and design. But when I received it I noticed all 4 brush strips were loose in the backing plate, one of them ready to fall out. The brush strips are held into the backing plate by a number of screws. On my boot, all the screws were very loose and would not tighten at all. Either the screw holes were over-drilled at the factory or the screws were over tightened at the factory or the screws are simply too small for the holes. As it is the brush is unusable because the vibration of turning it on would immediately cause the screws and brush strips to fall out. You cannot reasonably put in a bigger screw because it depends on the overlap of the screw to retain the strip and it is bored immediately adjacent to the strip slot. A machine screw and nylock nut could probably be substituted for all screws, but at least where they are located under the router the backing plate would need to be counter-bored to permit the lock nut to be flush. And this is not something I should have to do. Maybe mine is just defective, but it is important to note that all the screws were free rotating and holding virtually nothing so even if it is unusual this indicates abysmal quality control.

rockler dust boot for shark cnc
it is a shame that such a good company would offer such a useless piece of equipment. The brushes suck into the vac and block the suction . I tried using a shop vac and it still didn't pull dust. Tried different bits. This is just a poor design. learn from me there are better designs out there. research it. The shark is a good machine this dust boot should not even be on the same page. Poor design

Great for changing bits
Grate addition to a CNC. The brush part uses magnets to hold to the top part. Great for changing bits. Snap the brush off, change the bit, set Z, raise the head and snap the brush back on.

Bristles get sucked into the dust collection hole enabling dust and debris to escape. Not even pulling that much suction. Was hoping for better dust containment.
