I’ve tried quite a few matcha powders, and this one really impressed me. The color is a vibrant, rich green, which already tells you it’s high quality. i am really impressed. i’ve been looking for more affordable matcha since this matcha hype has made every brand raise prices. this was the most affordable, though it was cheaper in 2022, i think $20 a 12oz bag, this is the best option out there right now for value!!! definitely more yellow than ceremonial mix but when paired with my latte it looks very vibrant. the taste is slightly sweet with notable green tea flavor. i’ve tried other brands and i haven’t really tasted that green tea flavor through the milk and sugar! my ratio is 3g matcha 30g hot water 120g milk and 20g sweetener of choice. my only concern was the packaging was not the same as shown in the pictures. it made me skeptical if it was really authentic since it has “AUTHENTIC” labeled so huge. (usually brands don’t need to have “authentic” so large if it’s really authentic.) but all in all it tastes really good and looks good so i’m satisfied:)

I’ve tried a few matcha powders. Carrington Farms, Tenzo, Harney & Sons, and some from TJ Maxx that I can’t remember. This one is definitely the best bang for your buck! I really enjoyed Tenzo, until I tasted the one from Harney & Sons. That one was my favorite, but the price was too much to buy on a regular basis. I took a chance and tried this one and I was pleasantly surprised. I would say this one is my second favorite in taste. You also get more than double for a lower price! H&S might be a little smoother than this one, but with all factors considered, this one is takes the cake! As long as the price remains $12, I will continue to purchase. Update on 2nd Bag: I received my second bag and sadly it wasn’t as good as the first. I’ve heard people describing certain matchas as having a fishy taste, but I’ve never experienced it… until now. As a person who doesn’t like the taste of the deep blue sea I was so disappointed. I couldn’t even finish my cup. I could even smell a hint of it in the powder. I guess I’m back on the search. First try: Beautiful color for a great price. I love that it's a product of Japan. I use matcha mainly for matcha lattes and the taste was great! Much better than my previous cheaper Amazon matcha powder. Though, as some of the reviews suggested, it does need to be very well whisked. My standard whisk resulted in a few matcha powder clumps in my iced latte. Second try: I read on Google that clumping is "usually a sign of high-quality matcha." In fact, when you buy a traditional matcha set, it will come with a fine mesh seive. You are supposed to sift matcha to break up the clumps. After sifting and whisking with hot water, there were zero clumps in my matcha latte! It came out perfect. I think I found my new favorite matcha powder. Great quality and great price.

This is my favorite matcha powder for lattes. There are a lot of options and I've tried quite a few but I keep coming back to this as the right combination of quality and price. 1. The texture isn't grainy and stays suspended in the latte without sinking to the bottom. It feels smooth and is easy to incorporate into drinks with a milk frother 2. The color is a vibrant green that looks both visually appealing and is an indicator of good quality 3. The taste is genuinely excellent for the price. There is no bitterness aftertaste as far as I can tell (this might be different if you are drinking plain matcha without milk) and you can easily get a strong matcha flavor without using a ton of the powder. 4. The quality appears to be consistent (in the powder itself, not necessarily the packaging). I've gotten 4 of the 2 oz packets and they all have the same good qualities. One of them did explode during transport and it was kind of annoying to be cleaning matcha powder out of my carpet for a week, but I was sent a replacement for the broken packet without issue. If you're looking for matcha for drinks that is smooth, tastes good, and is at a decent price, this is the product I'd recommend.

I was sick of buying the small bags of matcha and decided to take a chance on a larger bag with this brand and I am so happy that I did! This is so much better and seemingly better quality than the other one I had been purchasing for years! Do not hesitate to buy this!!

I’ve been drinking matcha for years and have been on the hunt for a more affordable option with the recent surge in prices and the matcha shortage. This matcha is surprisingly fresh! Beautifully green without tinges of yellow. I’ve had higher priced matchas that were visibly dull and aged. The tea leaves were well ground- no grittiness or chalkiness on the tongue. I believe there is a good amount of natural biocompounds like L-theanine in this matcha because I feel relaxed and concentrated after drinking it. I also think there’s a healthy dose of caffeine in it because I drank my cup rather quickly a few days ago and suddenly felt wired and hyper focused while doing errands lol. The flavor of this matcha isn’t particularly complex. No real depth as far as astringency or subtle notes that give it character. Just a slight but pleasant bitterness, which makes it a perfect canvas for a coffee shop or home enthusiast that likes to dress up matchas with milks, fun syrups and flavorings! I think even people who don’t like the “grassiness” of matcha could enjoy this one.
