Wow wow wow wow .
Being on the ground floor tends to get alot of damp . Talk About totally amazed by the amount of water it sucked from the walls and floors. Dry walls warmer rooms , better health, better sleeping. Extremely energy efficient. Also I don't have a dryer ,so when I've done a load of washing, and I hung it up , I turn this wonderful machine on and hey presto my washing gets dryer faster than before.. hang on .. did I forget to mention that it also purefies the air . Yes that's right. Great for those hey fever sufferers, push the button for AP. And clean air . It tells you when it's time to empty the tank. And the timer with the auto shut off works a treat. Easy controls. Not as heavy as it looks . Probably the best purchase I've made in a long time. The hepa filters are a little pricey, but they do work very well. If your thinking that the initial outlay is a bit much , I guarantee you will wonder why you didn't buy one sooner. I wouldn't hesitate in buying another if I had a bigger flat. No more damp , mold , bad smell. Excellent piece of kit.

Sucks Out The Cold And Damp
The bedroom in our flat faces North East and never gets much Sun apart from a few rays during sunrise in warmer days. The far wall facing outside is cold and had mold appearing here and there, plus the air in the room just felt too cold and the bedding felt slightly damp and cold to touch. And the window had so much condensation we had to keep an eye on cleaning the shelf and frame regularly. Even our venetian blind had some mold on it. I had tried a cheap £40 dehumidifier that took 3 days to extract 500ml of water, which eventually died after about 8 months. After leaving it for a few years, at the onset of Autumn this year when the quilt started to feel uncomfortably cold, I decided to damn the expense and pay a premium for a decent model. The first one I looked at used double the amount of energy than this model, so that was one of my deciding factors. In usage, I have it plugged into a smart plug, set to come on at 10am and stay on until 10pm. It is fairly quiet and after a few days of running it started to cut out more on reaching the desired humidity level, 55% in our case. Our room now feels warm and dry with no condensation on the windows. We have cleaned the walls and window and there is no sign of mold or dampness. We dry laundry in an adjacent room but have yet to place the unit in that room. A lot of the bedroom moisture is probably coming from there anyway. The only downside is having to empty the tank regularly. Every other day in our case. But I would rather do that than go back to a cold and damp room. It's unbelievable to see so much water plucked from the air when emptying the tank. It's simple to use: just press the arrow buttons to select the desired humidity level, or to select constantly on, or air purification mode. The timer can be used to auto turn off after a given number of hours. Note this won't be remembered and you have to set a timer every time you wish to do it. I recommend using a smart plug. All you have to do is plug this unit into your smart plug, turn it on and set it up how you want it, such as humidity level, then don't press the unit's power off button, leave it turned on, and instead control the power to it via your smart plug, either manually or in our case on a set time. When it comes to emptying the tank, turn the power off on your smart plug, not the unit, empty and replace your tank and filter if you have cleaned it, then turn your smart plug back on. If you press the unit's power off button, it forgets the desired humidity level setting, so always turn it off and on via your smart plug and you are good to go. I'd say the unit uses around 2p to 3p of electricity an hour. It's a hefty unit to pick up but I just spin it around when I need to remove the tank, and back again after replacing. It's not too heavy though. In summary, if you need a dehumidifier, this is the droid you are looking for!

Very effective in tackling humidity, noisy.
**Meaco 12L/Day Low Energy Dehumidifier Review** I recently purchased the Meaco 12L/day low energy dehumidifier, and I have to say, it does an impressive job of tackling humidity issues in my home. Right off the bat, I noticed a significant reduction in moisture levels, which has made a noticeable difference in the overall comfort of my space. With each use, the unit removes a substantial amount of water from the air, making it a reliable ally against dampness. One of the interesting side effects of using this dehumidifier is that the air feels warmer. This is a nice bonus, especially during cooler months, as it creates a more inviting atmosphere. However, the unit does come with its drawbacks. The noise level is quite noticeable, making it difficult to have it running in the same room while trying to relax or sleep. It is loud enough that I would recommend using it in a separate area, at least during the night. In summary, the Meaco 12L/day dehumidifier excels in reducing humidity and providing a more comfortable living environment, but it definitely needs improvement in terms of noise levels. If you’re looking for an effective dehumidifier and don’t mind the sound, this model is a solid choice.

Perfect Remedy to Damp Problems
This dehumidifier is great. Living in an old property it’s prone to damp but this has totally solved the problem. The windows are clear in the morning and the bathroom walls are dry. The display is very useful to see how much humidity is in the air and I love that it shuts off when it reaches the set level (I have it set to 55%). If you have wooden floors it can be quite noisy at night as it vibrates kind of similar to a fish tank pump. I have managed to dampen the sound but putting a couple of towels underneath it. It could probably benefit from having some rubber legs attached to it maybe? I think this would be the case with air product running a fan though. I haven’t noticed a major impact on my electricity bill and I’ve been running it 24/7 so it’s definitely energy efficient which was important to me when choosing a dehumidifier. I would definitely recommend this to anyone living in a small old property!

Without a doubt, the best product for the job!
I have a 400 year old cottage, therefore letting the building breathe is important. But in the winter, it’s difficult especially when you have washing to dry. I bought this dehumidifier purely from the reviews. I have to agree, the best equipment for the job. I can put all the washing in a room, point the vents of this machine and in hours it’s dry. I leave on constant in the day in a very large bedroom. It will fill the dispenser in one day! This room now feels so much warmer/dryer/fresher. If you’re looking for the right tool for the job, I highly recommend this Meaco dehumidifier.

Works very well
Got this dehumidifier for our 1 bedroom flat, we have always maintained that our flat is damp but the landlord says not. It is easy to use, I have set it to 50% humidity as I have Asthma and when I did some research the ideal indoor humidity for Asthmatics is 30-50%. When I first switched it on the indoor humidity was 78%. The air purifier works well and is recommended for Asthmatics. The automatic shut of works when the preset humidity level has been reached, unfortunately this has only happened once in our flat. Some suggest just opening a window will help combat dampness but this will only work if the outdoor humidity is less than the indoor humidity and unless you know both of these figures everyday then opening a window can make things worse. The automatic shut off when the tank is full also works well although we tend to empty it sooner as we find moving a full tank around the flat can end up with some water spillage. It is interesting how much water it collects. You cannot drink this water or use it to water plants that are eaten ie tomato plants however it could be used to water other plants. We empty it before going to bed, in the morning and once during the day. We switch it off if we are leaving windows or doors open. We would recommend this dehumidifier.

This thing sucks... in a very good way.
My home had been suffering with some excess moisture and mould in our conservatory (which doubles as my office space... just fab in these cold winter months). So, based on recommendations and online reviews, I purchased this (admittedly expensive) bad boy. Boy, does this thing find a LOT of moisture. On first run, it identified the humidity (i.e. air moisture content) at over 90% - and within 24 hours it had completely filled it's rather large tank. Over the first month or so, it has filled up every 2-3 days. Moving into March, it's now closer to every 4-5 days. I tend to run it overnight (when the temp drops and the moisture otherwise would gather) then turn it off when I go to work in the AM. It is easy to use, relatively easy to maneouvre with it's handle, and the air purifier is a useful bonus (I can't honestly tell you I notice a difference with it, but it may well do in a household with smoke or pet odours?)... It uses a tiny bit more electricity to run for a full day than I'd love in these times of rising energy costs (somewhere around the £1.50-£2 mark to run non-stop depending on how hard it's working) - but it makes the conservatory dry and habitable without a daily mould/damp wipe-up - there has been literally no condensation or mould in the 6 weeks since owning it. Highly recommended.
