Would this work on a high end women's purse?

It might, but I don't think it would be a good idea to use it. It does leave a little bit of a residue. If it's a "high end" purse, would probably be best to just allow the purse to break-in over time and use.

Does this work for a synthetic leather glove?

I don't think so. It's supposed to be absorbed by the glove making it more flexible. It works great on leather. But you can't hurt your glove by trying it.

Will it work on leather gloves with some mesh backing ? I’m afraid the heat will melt the mesh ?

I wouldnt as mesh is typically plastic or similar synthetic

I just used an ordinary dish towel. Make sure to adhere to the oven temperature prescribed in the directions.
