I wanted to add a Level indicator to a water tank to supplement a pressure sensor. This adapter allowed me to easily take some clear tubing and a NPT adapter to create the level indicator. It's an easy project for an afternoon when the tank is empty.

The 1/2" X 3/4" brass tank connector was installed at the base of a 55 gallon drum. I did not want to cut a hole in the top of the drum for access so I used a weighted string to locate the 1" hole I drilled for the fitting. The drum is used to hold water for plants in a greenhouse during the winter months. I needed a screen on the suction side because a RV pump is used to pressurize the irrigation drippers. I tied several knots on the string over each other so there was enough resistance to pull the fitting through 1" hole. Once the nut was snug without over compressing the rubber washer I gave a good tug on the string and it popped right out. Very easy to instal, no leaks when the tank was filled and worth every penny. Five stars IMO.

Head Is not too big, and the rubber washer has bad quality (because of It the washer comes out if you tide nicely) however if you aré putting over a flat surface without too much pressure Will work really good. I did use It in a bucket, did not work really well. The Solutions i've found Is getting better Ruber washers for couple cents. For me this is temporal i had some plumber putty wich i used on It to prevent leaks.

These have done well. I used them for ports on a water heat exchanger I built for use with a wood stove. They have been exposed to water temperatures up to boiling and haven't had any problems. I screwed up and ordered the wrong ones. I really needed 3/4" GHT fittings rather than NPT, but I had some adapters around that I could use to make them work. I didn't want to wait for the correct parts to be delivered. 5 stars from me, though I am tempted to take one off for value. They are pretty expensive.

Do not over tighten, the rubber washer could be harder so it doesn’t collapse when tightening on hard plastic.

Works well as an Evaporative Cooler Drain. Seals tight. The Dial Mfg overflow pipe screws in to the female side of this fitting properly and seals. Now maybe I can quit replacing the Dial plastic fittings. Well cut threads, a sturdy nut and good tight gaskets.

Installed it on a garbage bin. It fits 1/2" hose bib perfectly. Perfect for making a DIY rain barrel.
