Good over view if you’ve read the original 7 Study
I love a good Jen Hatmaker book. I do feel that this would be best read after you’ve read her original 7 study book. Overall this version delivers a brief overview on the concept of 7 in light of the holidays. I perfect to have the original 7 study along with to remind me of the details and provide more I depth study and reflection. If you’ve not read the original 7, I am not sure you would follow along and be able to extract the deeper meaning and value of her concepts.

Okay for thinking about alternatives to Christmas consumerism
First, I have to recommend, "Christmas is Not Your Birthday". My church read it as an Advent study years ago. It was a game changer! And while you don't have to read the original "Seven" book by Jen, it seems you could read that one, then look at it's applications to Christmas yourself. In this book, I find some of the practices are a little extreme for most individuals or families. Still, it's a good read if you're looking for ways to make Christmas more about celebrating the birth of Christ instead of getting wrapped up (and stressed out) over the consumerism-based practices of Christmas many families have adopted.

Love, Love, LOVED this Book
LOVED this book. Couldn’t put it down. Even hosted a book study during the holidays this year. Incorporating Jen Hatmaker’s “favorites” into my thought process, kept me more calm this Christmas season. I wasn’t stressed, I able to enjoy the true meaning of Christmas.

Quick joyous book for your Christmas season!
She, Jen Hatmaker, always brings it home, doesn’t she? She always brings it back to what matters and she does it in a way that is guilt and judgement free. Wonderful read to help center you and your family this Christmas season.

Don’t bother, buy ‘7’, and add in your own Christmassy thoughts
Usually very happy with with Jen Hatmaker’s work, but this was disappointing. It seemed mostly a re-hash or ‘7’ (a great, thought provoking book), with a few christmas mentions thrown in. To say this is part of a mutiny against excess (in the spirit of ‘7’), then to part with £17.50 in order to read it seems to be to say the least, unhelpful, and counterintuitive! Maybe a publisher’s desire to generate more income from the original’s success, but with no real additional content absolutely not really worth the money or indeed time to read - plenty of other pre Christmas/advent thought provoking/stuff reducing books and blogs out there ... as I said disappointing, and a waste of money.

Disappointing.
This was disappointing read.I loved the original ‘7’ (a thought provoking, emotional book) and this one wasn't up to the same thought and emotion which I thought it would have been given the time of year that it was written for and about. There was no additional content and, I am sad to say, not really worth the money or indeed time to read. As I said, I loved the original '7' and, despite this being a disappointing read, it won't put me off reading Jen Hatmaker Books in the future.
