Yes they are hard to put together but they look great and are comfortable. Put side screws in first on the sides of arms and then the rest. Save screws closest to the ground for last so you can minipulate the chair. I bought 4 chairs so I know it works. Quality looks great but the assembly knocks off a star. These chairs are not only ridiculously hard to assemble (it took 1-1/2 hours to assemble 2), but the holes for the screws don't even line up. We ordered 6 and every single one had problems. Every completed chair is missing screws due to the alignment problem. Some of the wicker ribbing was broken in places and not one chair sits flat on the floor, again due to the alignment problem. The chairs look good but I would NEVER purchase these again.
