Brought one for my u tear old niece and she loved it, needed a little help from an adult in terms of heating the wax and setting it up, but other than that it's a great kit. More grown up than the usual childrens candle making kits. I have purchased another for my 7 year old daughter.

Christmas present for my 8yr daughter but we all got involved making and decorating candles. Would highly recommend. The contents are good quality. Lots of fun making the different shape candles. 👍👏🏻

We got this kit for our niece who is nearly six and quite grown-up for her age, (so the age 7+ guidelines wasn’t an issue). Everything was crafted whilst supervised of course and is a nice activity to do together with children, whilst chatting and having a bit of ‘quiet time’ during the festive period. First impressions are a quite a big box and so it looked very impressive wrapped up. Second impressions were ‘Woah that’s a lot of plastic!’ I was also concerned the plastic moulds may not be up to the job (more on that later). You can buy more wax on amazon and I dare say it would work fine with generic waxes too. The instruction booklet is clear and the colour photos most helpful, especially for a child. We found we needed to reinforce the plastic moulds with sellotape but then they worked very well once strengthened. They will need to be handled with care to ensure they remain useful for future crafting which is a bit of a negative for an item to be used by someone young. The glitter and gems were of course a huge hit with our niece and own grandchildren one of whom is a magpie it seems! I quite enjoyed this myself as an adult - and that's important because it means you will spend time with your child helping which, inevitably means time together doing something creative. A real plus point. If I could have added different scents to the kit to make scented candles, that would have been the icing on the cake (however the intended recipient, our six year old niece, would have never requested this so I don’t think children will think it’s lacking whatsoever). I also think it’s a little expensive when checking the costs out but, I'm new to candle making so perhaps it is the going rate. Our niece was definitely very happy.

This contains everything you'd need to make your own candles, providing you have a microwave and scales. The kit itself is somewhat over packaged and contains glitter, which also isn't great from an environmental point of view. I don't think removing the glitter from the package would have lessened the quality any. It's easy enough to use, soften the wax in the microwave and get it in the moulds. These are a bit flimsier than I had expected and a certain amount of shoring up is required, but then, having made the candles, maybe that's a necessary evil for removing them from the mould. Either way, a bit of shoring up is required. The finshed product is pretty nice and the kids enjoyed it. Plus if you want to do more, you can always get some new wax. Nice gift.

This is a beautiful gift idea and a complete kit to create lovely candles, using your imagination. It comes in a big box and has everything you need to make the candles: 1 station with 6 transparent moulds, 3 metal cutters, 1 cotton wick spool, 1 pack of soya wax, 5 pendants, 8 crayons, 1 pencil sharpener, 1 paintbrush, 5 tubes of glitter, 1 template and an instruction sheet. It's a bit bewildering at first, which is why it's recommended for ages 7+, and adult supervision is certainly necessary. However, if you want to spend a creative afternoon with your children (or grandchildren) and make something special, then this kit is superb. It's fairly pricey so I'm assuming you would be able to get refills for the consumable parts of the kit (the soya wax and glitter anyway). Looking forward to trying it out over the Christmas school holidays.

I have just spent a lovely weekend making candles as gifts for friends with my 6 and 7 year old daughters using this set. Note that the wax takes up to 12 hours to set, hence the whole weekend of making! It was surprisingly easy to use. The fact that you only need to microwave the soya wax to melt it was a real bonus and saved on time and mess (do protect your surfaces though, we used an oil cloth to protect the table and I am really pleased we did!). The accompanying instructions were detailed and well set out. Whilst I handled most of the hot wax the children loved helping to position the wick (don't forget this bit, we have one wick-less candle!!) and then decorating their creations with the various jewels etc. The way in which the set works means that most sensible 7 year olds could fill the moulds themselves. I like that this set has a life beyond the use of the wax. You can either buy a refill set or other waxes and fill the moulds with them. We made some lovely festive themed candles, the gold pen being especially useful. The glitter was good too if a little non environmentally friendly! The wax was easy to colour too by mixing in shavings of the coloured wax crayons. It is worth noting that this set comes in a big box and would make a brilliant and impressive looking gift.

Quite a well designed kit and not too messy. You’ll need a microwave, preferably 750W and accurate kitchen scales for the wax. And sellotape for fixing the wax in the small moulds. You can make up to three candles in a session. However you can only melt the wax for the larger moulds one at a time. My microwave allows only a choice of 950W or 600W. I tried it on high power for short bursts. The candles are coloured with shavings of wax crayons, with the sharpener provided, using up about a third of the crayon, so I don’t get an insipid colour. I found I did get some drips on the bottom of the plastic pan when I poured out the wax, so do protect your digital scales! Otherwise the lid that fits on when it comes out the microwave is great. You get two bags of soya wax and the candles I’ve made in the picture are just into the second bag. I now have to let them set for 12 hours. I do find the ra ra, look how environmentally sound we are for using soya wax annoying, when several tubes of glitter are included for decoration. Yes we all grew up enchanted by glitter, but it is an unrecyclable microplastic that can be washed into the food chain. There is also a considerable amount of extra wrapping in the kit. Overall, it’s a good present with clear instructions, and easy to set up tidily. Just so long as you are prepared for the long time the wax takes to set.

Tolles Geschenk für Kinder! Das Kerzen gießen / verzieren macht Spass und richtig viel Dreck! Besorgt euch vorher einen großen Karton als Unterlage! Leider muss so eine Kerze etwas länger aushärten, was zu sehr großem Unverständnis seitens der Kinder führte! Ich persönlich war fast schon froh darüber!

Abbiamo regalato a nostra figlia di 11 anni questa "fabbrica" per le candele a Natale. È stata felicissima. Il kit comprende una struttura in plastica per produrre le candele, un pentolino per sciogliere la cera nel proprio microonde, varie formine, vari accessori per la decorazione e la rifinitura. La struttura consente di mantenere il pentolino pieno di cera liquida in sicurezza. Consiglio comunque, per i bambini più piccoli, la supervisione di un adulto perché la cera va sciolta nel proprio forno a microonde potrebbe risultare pericoloso. Ho acquistato anche la ricarica di cera. Mia figlia ha prodotto e produce candele per tutta la famiglia e gli amici. Sono molto soddidfatta del prodotto!
