Yes! I found it works great on calls, and it can cancel out background noise whilst on the call

Can it be powered by the usb-C charger that I also use for my phone or laptop?

Should be fine, the headphones come with a really short usb type C cable though

Can you use the noise cancelling or bluetooth feature while charging?

Can you switch off the microphone?

Depends on the device with which you connect. If you connect the headphone with a Win-10 device, there are two options: WI-1000XM2 Stereo and WI-1000XM2 Hands-Free AG Audio. Stereo is without microphone and the other is with microphone.
