I am hoping that it will come out with repeated washes, but for now, I can only give four stars. Update: I have owned this for approximately 5 years and have never gotten sunburned under it, so: I'd say it works. In addition, the odor issue was a result of using too little detergent. Have had no issues since.

Husband Loves These Shirts
My husband has worn theses in the sun for about 5 years. Uses them for golf and other extended in sun activities. The mock turtle neck covers back of neck and chest under chin. Never sunburned while wearing.
