They are defaulted to a soft white when you plug them in. Once you download the app you have access to all the colors. We used it for a show we were doing online & we were showcasing backpacks on shelves & these helped brighten them a lot. They were on the floor projecting upwards. Basically Stage lights but not nearly as hot or an "Oven Light". I did also purchase a splitter for the two plugs into one plug but not necessary, especially if you want to use outside or separately. There isn't a remote for the colors or a power switch, so once it's plugged in, it's on. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good lights but they have a shelf life *by on Reviewed in the United States April 24, 2022* I bought 4 of these less than 2 years ago (2 of them purchased 13 months ago). 3 of them have died - they begin to flicker and become unresponsive. They’re great but they may be best as only used for a couple hours a day. I used them pretty frequently for normal and color light.
