Spicy!
This is an excellent spice. It does have a little heat. Used it in a dry rub for chicken wings and it added a quiet umph.

Tasty Addition to Your Cooking.
I didn't think it'd be worth the purchase so I waited for it to be on sale. After adding it to seared chicken, fried batter chicken, and curries.... yep, it's worth it. It adds a gentle heat (like 3.5/10, so if you can't handle past 1... this ain't for you!) that doesn't build and a subtle chili taste that isn't overpowering. I do like that it adds a nice yellow/orange to the food your cooking, so that's also why I used it in curry and batters as a sub for turmeric/paprika. Overall, very very very worth your money if the versatility of this is a good addition to your cooking. It came packaged with all my other Amazon items that are heavy, but luckily it didn't break as it was bubbled wrapped.

I don't like spicy food. I can't eat anything spicier than a pimento, it's sad. But I LOVE this pepper powder. It's has the most beautiful flavor-- a subtle smokiness, faint floral high note, and the quickest bit of heat-- that elevates everything I eat it on. The quality of this particular espelette powder is exceptional; the flakes come in multiple sizes and are perfect for anything. I sprinkle my espelette on a nice cheese, jam, and cracker the most. I will be buying this product again.

A little heat a little sweet
Taste is bright with just enough heat with a little citrusy sweet note. Use it daily especially on eggs. Price is high but so is the quality
