Would this cardholder be big enough to hold a 45 vinyl record?

Connie, I tried it with a 45 rpm record for you. It was hard to get it in, but was able to do so. The record would end up being scratched, but if just using it for a display and never listening to the record again should be fine.

Are these sturdy enough to hold a 8.5" x 11" extra thick piece of notecard paper?

I used a 4x6 card stock and it was fine. Not sue how thick you sheet is, you may be able to push it in between the rings.

Would these be sturdy enough to hold an acrylic sheet?

Only if you place them in a wider base. Otherwise they may tip. If you stick them in a centerpiece, then yes.
