Enjoying this little deck
I got this deck to use as an oracle deck, so while I do refer to the detail cards, I’m mostly using the image cards. I didn’t realize there were 26 of those and that the details cards were just further descriptions and tips on how to implement them. In any case, I enjoy the symbolism in the deck as well as the art and graphic design style. The cards are plastic coated like playing cards and the same size. One bent a little after one use, but otherwise they are in perfect condition. My first two readings with them were accurate and clear, so I would recommend it for those in search of a different kind of oracle deck. I’m sure it’s fun and helpful as a writer’s tool as well.

Check all cards
In general: wonderful set, beautiful, cute and fun. Can be thought-provoking especially if you REALLY try and figure out HOW the situation can apply to a current work. Ask the right questions! CAUTION: Bought this as a gift for myself after reaching a goal during NaNoWriMo in 22. I have used the cards a few times but didn't want to look through them all, wanting to leave the imagery and words as fresh as possible. Today I pulled a few and found them stained with junk. Must have been a return that wasn't checked by Amazon. Cards cleaned well, but the oil from whatever it was stained the front of one card and the back of the other. Wish I could rate the creators and Amazon separately, but I cannot, hence the 4 stars instead of five. Would buy another product from Writer Emergency without question.

Another cure for writer’s block!
I’ll be honest, I’ve had writer’s block for a few days and was really at the mercy of trying something new to break the mold. During my search, I came across this since the Story Forge cards that were recommended to me weren’t on Amazon. I had to order it through the company website. Regardless, this came in just in time. The great thing about The Writer’s Emergency Pack is that it takes your mind off of your writer’s block and gets your mind thinking about other scenarios. Secondly, the instructions on how to use the cards are suuuuuper simple. While thinking about the problem it prompts you to pick an illustrated idea card at random and then it’s matching detail card. The detail card has information on both the front and back. This gives the writer sort of a writing prompt to get their mind flowing and thinking outside the box. For the record, this is my second day using it and I find it relatively useful. I’m a novice novel writer and am part of a larger novel writing group in SoCal.

Great Father's Day gift
My husband is an aspiring novelist. I gave him this pack as one of his gifts for Father's Day. I wasn't sure if he would like it or think it was useless. Turns out he loves it! It's a simple way to get the creative juices flowing when you're stuck.

10/10 for concept, 6/10 for execution
I love the concept behind this tool, and I love the graphic design aesthetic. However, like others have said, it was a sad surprise to realize each concept takes up two cards, so there really are half a deck full of prompts, padded out to double their size. This design unfortunately makes the use cumbersome - every time you draw a card at random, you then have to shuffle through the other half-deck to find its mate. It's also, unfortunately, hard to feel slighted by 50%. 52 cards should be 52 cards (give or take), not 26 cards padded out to take up two each. I genuinely hope the writer will reconsider the design - each card with something visual on one side, text on the other, perhaps - for a second edition.

Nice Writers Survival Pack
They are the size of playing cards. Thickness, texture and durability is much better than playing cards though. A GREAT gift for teens who like to write creatively! I bought them as a gift for my creative writing class as part of a writers survival pack!

Deck of cards with writer terms written on them. Some small sketches to bring life to an otherwise blank card with Bold text. Bought during a holiday purchase order and didn’t catch the price(66$ not 6.60$) for a deck of cards until it was too late. Only reason I didn’t give it lower was because the giftee said the prompts helped when creativity was drained dry.

Bought these for my mam who started a writing course. She loved them and said that the cards made her think of things she wouldn't normally have and really expanded her creativity.

I bought this to use during the NaNoWriMo challenge and love it. There are a bunch of writing prompts and ideas to get you going. Included in the pack are 26 illustrated Idea cards 26 Detail cards with various suggestions I've been tempted to sit down and pull out the deck to run through on a complete "blind" story and see where I end up! If you are interested in creative writing, regardless of age, I recommend grabbing this deck. It can be quite helpful going through and you are stuck on what to do next, pull out a card, and suddenly there is a new idea or story path you hadn't considered before.
