I purchased this for the purpose of making decorations for an event and I am astonished at how much prettier it is than in the picture. The iridescence runs from orangish-yellow to bright tangerine.Also, to all who wish to purchase this - if you're going to use dupioni, shantung, or shot silk, DO NOT WASH IT unless you're *looking* for alterations in color or texture. (Some people are. ;) ) Water will change the dyes, and can create spotting even upon immersion if there are any inconsistencies in saturation. This includes water from your skin, so if you're prone to sweating, wear something cotton underneath any garments made with this. The dyes used in these kinds of silks are also photosensitive, so keep their sunlight exposure minimal!

This is a very coarse and fiberous silk with a luxurious color and consistency.  Keeping in mind it is only a yard's worth - and a very strict interpretation of that yard if I may say so - this is a fair value for the quality.  The color, though, is absolutely amazing.  Rich, warm and very mesmerizing.
