IDEAL INDUSTRIES INC. 45-074 Wire Cutter

Love this product, used it when I worked in the wire and cable industry!! Now I am retired, I have new uses for it. I use it to cut back small bushes and branches. It’s easier to hold and works better than snippers in many cases. Also use it to cut through tough plastic. I recycle so I want no wildlife getting their heads stuck in plastic jars , like mayo whose tops are tough. It cuts through the tough top ring so I can open up the jar for animal safety.

Nice and clean cut.

Works well, and is surprisingly sharp.

FANTASTIC cable cutter for actual data cable. Slices through milspec 20x28 jacketed cable like butter. COAX CABLE WILL BLUNT THESE IMMEDIATELY. I REPEAT, ANYTHING BIGGER THAN RG316 WILL BLUNT THE EDGES FIRST CUT. A piece of RG400 absolutely destroyed these after...10? Cuts. If you have to cut coax with these, don't attempt solid conductor. Move them toward the front of the curve to start. I suspect any solid conductor coax would render these unusable after one cut. Source: I'm an engineer at a milspec harness house.

These cutters work for more than just data. Great for speaker wires also. Cutting coax will dull them so be warned. They are small and the rounded nose makes them great for carrying in your pocket.I use them for the aforementioned coaxial wire cutting from time to time so I do go through a few of these each year, but they are really sharp when new and I highly recommend them to any one who needs to strip any kinds of wire.

Great size, cuts all cable sizes easily and cleanly. Also, they don’t squish the cable as you cut it making it slide into the end smoother.

This product was bought for work to cut off plastic valves. It was the perfect tool for the job. The cutters are very sharp and they work great!

These little cutters are very sharp able to cut 6 #12 Awg solid copper wires altogether the same length for attaching wire nuts
