These bags are so easy to use and keep your cart organized. I get compliments and questions about them every time I go to the store. The cooler bag is perfect to keep your groceries cold on the drive home. I've also used it to keep a pizza hot! We love these bags! My wife and I use them all the time even to the point where it feels inconvenient if we accidentally forget them at home before going shopping. We joke that we don't even feel like shopping anymore, we need to go back home and get the bags. (We're actually only half joking.) They are made of a thick, strong material that is able to carry, on average, roughly 4 bags worth of groceries (they vary in size). Even during times that we forget to take them shopping with us, we still use them to unload the car and bring groceries into the house when we get home. When we actually do take them with us, it helps to organize our shopping and keep the groceries compartmentalized. They also help us to eliminate the need for plastic bags. Highly recommend.

This is the second time I have purchased these bags. Loved them the first time, but found them a little hard use. When a store checkout has a carousel bagging area, you have to get a second cart to use with the Lotus bags so you can open them up and place items in. I gave my bags away and went back to the box type reusable bags. Not long after I gave my Lotus bags away, I started shopping at a grocery store with a conveyor belt. Wished I had my Lotus bags back. Then my store started offering SCAN & GO. I could put my box type open bags in the cart and start shopping. Just scan the item you want and place it in your bag. At checkout I scan the QR and everything is transferred to the register, pay and leave. It works great, except these old box type bags DO NOT fit well in the cart and becomes a pain to use. Then I remembered my old Lotus bags, they were made for this. So glad I was able to find them again on Amazon. I did not hesitate to order them again. I knew first hand they were quality made and would be the perfect solution. When Covid-19 hit, stores would not allow you to bring in your own bags, you had to use the stores plastic bags. That did not sit well with me. Then I found out I COULD use my bags, IF I did the SCAN & GO. Now grocery shopping is a breeze and using Apple Pay makes checkout touch free. The only thing I DO NOT like is my fault...I have a habit of overloading the bags making them hard to lift. But, these bags handle it and stand up to the extra weight. Amazon ask you to give the most important reason you like or dislike the item you are reviewing for the Headline of the review. That was easy. #1 MADE IN THE USA!! But, my second reason is...THIS IS A FAMILY BUSINESS and they have a great product!!

TLDR: I love these bags and I have transformed into the green lady at the grocer. These bags are awesome, since I opened the package (which was neat and tidy with minimal packaging) I have taken them on multiple trips hauling groceries prior to writing this. So I could write this well informed review. We have longed for an easier and more conscientious method to shop for fresh foods in our household. Behold the Lotus bags. No more searching your home for the reusable plastic ones that are never around when you need them. No more of the frantically bagging your groceries at self check out while a busy Karen scoffs at you because you are taking to long (I’m trying to do my part to save the planet Karen, gosh) and no more of the fifty loose bags in your trunk that takes up more space than the body you had to hide for a friend last week. These bags make all the difference. They are convenient because they roll up and are easily stored and you almost never forget them because they are there neatly wrapped up waiting for you. They fit on almost every cart so you can pack as you go. (Yeah that’s right Karen don’t wait on me, go smoke that menthol cigarette in between shopping and picking your kids up from soccer I won’t slow you down.) and they are built to last. I cram these suckers full of food and I still have to test my bank account to even try to fill them to the top. Everyone is staring and stopping me to ask where I got them because the metal bars are such a genius idea. They stay open and stand upright and take the stress off of your arms when trying to lift your haul into the back of your car. I look like the most eco-conscious person at the market and I hope that someone else out there wants to be the same green goddess in the produce section with me because I will recommend these to everyone even Karen because I think is important and it helps when these kinds of products are user friendly. I also will recommend the small produce bags here as well because reducing plastics in every way that we can will start making the differences that we desperately need to see. They are equally as great but I will end here. Everyone these bags are great and if you too want to be the coolest person at the market then you won’t regret these.

I wanted to love these! The earth tones are lovely, and when rolled up they make a very organized set of bags. They’re easy to unroll and hold a LOT. Here’s why they’re not for me: • The fabric-covered bars are slippery on the cart edge; they don’t stay put on the cart until there is significant weight in some of the bags, and the bars tend to slip off the cart edge into the cart. I sometimes slide the bag bars into where the cart wires make tiny “slots” with mixed success. • They are too wide for my trunk or hatch! This is 1 of my 2 main issues. The suggestion is to spread your items across all the bags to evenly distribute weight and avoid having one or two super heavy bags, which makes sense, but then they don’t all fit into the trunk or hatch of either of my 2 small cars. They do fit better when the bars are removed, but that leads me to another issue… • I found them hard to roll up nicely in what I consider a reasonable amount of time (maybe I’m clumsy). The instructions to roll the bags is VERY easy! But the mesh bottoms and handles are a pain to tuck in properly to allow you to actually roll up the set and they like to jump out. Once rolled, the Velcro closure isn’t quite strong enough to hold the set together firmly, and will often pop open. This might just be because the bags are bunching up incorrectly? The roll-up process is further complicated when you’ve removed the support bars and have to feed them back into the bags. I’m probably in the minority here, but I don’t want to spend the same amount of time putting my bags away as I do putting my groceries away. • This was my second main issue: there’s no option to add another cooler bag***, which would support much of my shopping. I always fill it to the top and can’t close it. I didn’t realize how much my old larger, heavy-duty shoulder-sling cooler bag (which tore after 8 years) held until I shopped without it. The cooler bag IS generously sized but some may want a second bag… or ALL cooler bags. :D • Bagging many roundish objects like cans, bottles, or fruit creates a bag that is now a big saggy, heavy sock because the bottom is mesh instead of a material with a solid base. I’d prefer a stable form for the bag bottom to sit upon when it’s set down into the trunk, or at home onto the counter. The bags spread outward and “spill” as the heavier smaller contents (like cans) push the mesh base out. ***Edit: the company may be able to provide additional cooler bags, you just can’t choose more than 1 in the set. Summary of my pros: •Pretty •Seems sturdy to accommodate much weight •Easy to unroll and use at checkout •Great instructions and tips from company •Removable bars •Legit genius idea Summary of my cons: •Bags with bars too large for my trunk/hatch •No option for more than 1 cooler bag(s) in the set •Not good for many small heavier objects (like cans) because mesh bottoms have no form and bag is hard to set down and somewhat awkward to carry •Bars are slippery on cart (I’m sure I could remedy this with some rubber tape). •Reassembling / rolling up for storage takes more time than I want it to •Egg and wine pockets aren’t “safe” anymore when bag is taken out of the cart, closed, and put into a trunk
