How long will the batteries last at max brightness?

4-6 hours for me using Duracell. The issue is the light discharges the batteries slowly when turned off, so beware of storing them for months on end or for an emergency.

Is the red light good for night photography?

Dear Susan,Yes it is, red light wont ruin your night vision. It can often take as much as 30 minutes for you to get your "night vision" after having been exposed to bright lights.Hope that helps :)Sincerely,Ashley KossFoxelli Customer Care

Can you just turn the red light on and off without having to shuffle through all the other colors?

Dear Sara, Yes, you can! To activate the red light you have to press and hold on/off button for 1.5 s :) However, to turn it off you will have to cycle through the three different red light settings. Amber AdamsCustomer Care ManagerFoxelli Outdoor Gear

What case should I buy to protect it from the rest of my gear?

Foxelli MX20 headlamp is durable enough to be stored without any additional case, so there is no special case for the lamps. However, feel free to use any case you find convenient :) Amber Adams Foxelli Satisfaction Team
