Is youth size for a 13 year old

My son is 14 and weighs 120 lbs he is 5’4 and he he wears an XXSmall Adult. He likes for it to fit snug so the unit does not bounce when he plays or practices. I previously purchased the XSmall put it was two loose. We now have both sizes.
