What should I do if it does not charge or the LED flashes?

A flashing LED usually indicates insufficient output. Please check whether you are using a USB-C PD charger that supports 15V/3A and 45W or above. Most phone chargers and some older chargers do not meet the required output.

Why does the actual output sometimes differ even though it is labeled 15V/3A?

Surface devices use 15V/2.58A or 15V/4A. This cable supports up to 15V/2.58A. The 15V/3A label matches common USB-C PD chargers. Most 60W USB-C chargers are 20V/3A, don't support 15V/4A. Daily usage typically needs only 20–30W,so 15V/2.58A is enough

Does this cable support data transfer or video output?

No. This product is designed only for charging Surface devices. It transfers power from a USB-C charger to the Surface Connect port and does not support data transfer, video output, or docking station connections.

Is there still a benefit to using this cable with newer Surface models with USB-C port?

Yes. Even on newer Surface models with USB-C charging, using Surface Connect for charging keeps the USB-C port free for data transfer or video output. It is also convenient as a spare cable when traveling.

What should I know when using a multi-port charger?

When multiple ports are used, power may be shared and Surface may not receive 45W 15V/3A. If charging fails or the LED flashes, unplug other devices and test with a single port first.
