Good quality
This is good quality construction commensurate with the price. The main support consists of three poles - a sleeve that gets permanently affixed to a concrete base, and a middle tube that accepts the top tube onto which is attached the actual drying tree. The idea is that you can adjust the TOP portion up and down to your desired height then lock it in place. The one problem I found is that the middle tube had too tight a fit with the top portion, requiring me to HAMMER them together to achieve the desired height. I even used grease to ease it, but to no avail. Once together and adjusted with brute force, it is pretty good.

Great Product and Manufacturer works quickly to solve problems.
We love this clothesline, a well made product until....Wouldn't you know three weeks past the one year the base of the pole just bends over. My presumption is that there was an unseen defect in the metal.. The clothesline was installed per instructions. After one year I see no degradation of the line itself, nor any degradation of any of the metal components.Contacted the seller and they essentially said not our problem contact the manufacturer. A professional way of handling a defect in a costly item would be to say, "We are so sorry and have contacted the manufacturer requesting their assistance. Here are the contact numbers for you as well."Contacted the manufactureer and Tom was right on top of the issue requesting photos to resolve potential future problems and sent a replacement part. This product is a Five knowing that with all manufacturing there can be unforeseen defects. Tom at Breezecatchar was a Five. The sellers handling a Three. I would reorder this productModified my rating once the manufacturer resolved my problem. I would reorder this product and would use a different seller.

Big and sturdy
This clothesline is bigger than any other flimsey umbrella type I've bought at the big box stores. Nicely built, looks sturdy enough to withstand several years in the Oklahoma wind. Very easy to set up, my 12 year old had it out of the box and up before I even got to the back yard.

Purchased in 1998, still in use today
When my wife and I bought our house in 1998, we wanted to practice urban homesteading- even though we live a suburban community. We sought ways to reduce energy consumption - looking at the hulking energy hog in the basement (clothes dryer), we went on a diligent search for the ultimate clothes line. We purchased this exact model through a catalog dedicated to off-grid living. We have used the same clothes line for two decades, rotating 3-5 loads of laundry per week on it, 3 seasons of the year. Our washing machine spins clothes almost dry, and a few hours on this line is all our clothes need - much better for the clothes than super-heating them in a traditional electric dryer.I am happy to find this Breezecatcher on Amazon 20 years later; I wanted to recommend it to a friend will be moving off grid soon. The vertical pole and ground sleeve are so strong that I stand in one place to hang laundry on one side, then spin the clothesline to reach the next empty side. Reverse this for unhanging the clothes. With this method, hanging a load of laundry takes very little time.We have not purchased many things that worked as they were designed for 2 decades - this breezecatcher is one of them. Although initial cost is high, this dryer will pay you back many times over.I have no affiliation with the company, just want to see more people use the natural sun and wind to reduce emissions from dryer use. LOVE it!!! Tons of room
I initially started to look for a clothesline that could be removed when needed. I have had this one for about a mo. now and absoulutely love it over other kinds of clotheslines/racks I have tried in the past. The mechanisms are extremely smooth and easy for even me to handle (I have arthritis) Its adjustable!!! Im not tall and hated having to strain my back reaching up to get clothes on a tradional line. That being said if I hang items like sheets or blankets I can push it up to accomodate it. I also purchased a cover for it and it does fit nicely over it when needed. I plan on using it when we have guests or during windy inclement weather. The lines themselves are that poly plastic which is nice because it will not rust or mark your lighter clothing. The edges are all smoothed so no worries handing more delicate items or worring about snags. Spacing between the lines allows adequate air flow to dry the items faster. This is a LARGE dryer so its better suited for someone who wants to dry larger items or for a family. I have a large family and wash nearly every day this clotheslines holds 4 super capacity washer loads (adult/childrens clothes) easily. It spins easily with the slightly breeze. The manuf. sells another sleeve (part)that is cemented into the ground. So if you rent or want to move at a later date that is possible. The item is heavy though and although the manuf. says you dont have to cement it in the ground I dont see how it could hold up the weight of a fully loaded clothesline.

GREAT PURCHASE!!!
After 4 years still works and looks great! We buried a five gal. bucket filled with concrete, that way we can move it, if needed..The only flaw is the adjustable handle, the nut should be inset into the housing so it doesn't turn when you crank to tighten it. So We adjusted ours to the height that we liked and tightened it down with a wrench. I don't know if they fixed this issue or not, but it's no big deal, since we don't raise and lower it anyway. Still deserves a 5 star rating
