Vitamin C may be too harsh, as we age we do need exfoliation but our skin is delicate and physical exfoliation can be too much. I'd suggest looking for either a milk or cream cleanser if you feel like your skin is dry or even one with hyaluronic acid (moisturizes) or retinol (vitamin A, or any kind of retinoid) but if your moisturizer has retinol, just stick to a hydrating one that doesn't strip your skin. Retinol tightens the skin but can dehydrate it. I usually stick to a face cream or serum with retinol and a very simple hydrating cleanser.
