Luna Sandals are more rugged variants of the huarache. They are very lightweight and comfortable once broken in, but they can have a very annoying learning curve and break-in period. I'm giving the sandals five stars because they are very well built, but it's not uncommon at all for it to take over a week to find a strap configuration that works for you. There are two tricks to getting these sandals to fit properly. First, most important, is the size. You want very little material around your feet. These are different from most other sandals. The less material, the better. This means you will almost always want to size down, which Luna recommends. I'm a size 10 in shoes, I actually had to get these in size 8 to get a proper fit. Even a size 9 was too large for my feet. The second trick, and it's really counterintuitive, is to not over-tighten the straps. The key is "snug, not tight." If you've worn Birkenstocks, the rule is you want to be able to fit a finger between your feet and the straps. Same thing here. You want the straps to be snug but not tight. This lets your foot move properly. If they are too tight, the straps will actually force your foot into a fixed position, usually causing the sandal to turn inward or outward. (Not to mention it can cause foot pain). Adjustment will take a while. Eventually you'll find something that works. (I also like having my foot a little more forward in the sandal as opposed to centered or pushed back, but this totally depends on you). The quality is very good. The Vibram sole is very durable and a good choice for hiking and trails. Probably not the best option for really rugged things like rock climbing, but these are great for most typical day hikes. They are also easy to clean and dry very quickly, which can be a big deal if you are going to be trekking through rivers or bodies of water.

Update Edit 7.19.23: That was the quickest size exchange I've ever experienced (helps they're in the same state as me). Two days only. Have the correct size now and quite honestly they're perfect. Light. Grippy. Comfortable. Fantastic ground-feel. Easy to adjust. Easy on/off. So light. So grippy. Just a fantastic sandal. 5-stars. (Sorry in advance for my ugly feet in the photos.) Original Review 7.17.23: I ordered the incorrect size and wound up with a sandal that was 1.5 to 2 sizes too small for my foot. Neverless they still (because they're sandals) just barely fit me with the tiniest over-hang of large toe at front, and heel right to the very edge at the back (I have very short toes). No, I didn't keep them, but am posting a review simply to state how fantastic they felt, even this small, right out of the box. Perfect stack height for grip AND flexibility. My main sandal for several years now are Bedrock sandals (which I adore). These are very similar but this particular model gives me the grip of those, plus the smaller stack height of even more minimal sandals. I bought a pair of these Oso Flaco Winged along with a pair of their model "Origen Flaco" (correctly sized) directly from Luna at the same time to try out. I am keeping the Origens (they have tired tread and leather upper) but like these lighter, grippier Oso Flacos so much I may reorder in the correct size and have both. Just two fantastic sandals right out of the gate. My wife has a couple pairs for two or three years now and loves them. I understand why. (And none of this is to say these are better than Bedrocks... I don't think they are, but they are every bit as good. I will say that I think Bedrocks likely win in the durability catagory by a bit, just judging from construction and design... but the margin is small. ) Thanks Luna. From my feet on up, thanks!

These sandals were perfect for a beach vacation, but I highly recommend that you CHECK THE SIZING GUIDES on Luna Sandals website before purchasing. Based on the sizing guides, I bought maybe 3-4 sizes below my usual size. These sandals were a last minute purchase before I headed to the rocky beaches of the southern France. I wanted some minimalist sandals that could double as water shoes, and these were perfect for that. The tread was very grippy even on wet surfaces so I didn’t slip at all on the sea rocks. The insole (?) wasn’t slippery either, and the straps kept my feet snugly in place. I don’t usually like sandals with straps that go between my toes, but these were plenty comfy from first wear. The only negative I experienced is that, in comparison to water shoes, these sandals did allow some little rocks to slip in and get stuck below my foot and the insole, but it was easy enough to wash those out of the way. After wearing them in the water, I could still comfortably wear them for the 1-2 mile walk back home. I didn’t try wearing them for long-distance walks or hikes tho. Overall, would highly recommend.

当方､ランニングを始めてしばらくした後に顕在化し始めた､ 足の様々なトラブル(足底筋膜炎､外反母趾､扁平足､膝痛)から脱出せんが為に悪あがき的に､ 様々なベアフット系シューズ/足袋系/ウォーキングシューズを多種履き比べしています｡ (ゼロシューズジェネシス､ルナサンダル､杵屋無敵足袋､マルゴhitoe､VibramFiveFingersRUN等々) ルナサンダルの当タイプは靴底が割と分厚い為､ 荷物が割と重く長時間/長期間､あるいは､危険な岩場ばかり､でなけば､ たとえ山中であっても､足の疲労感や痛み等々は全く問題無いかと思います｡ (当方､学生時代は登山部にて､従来の登山靴に慣れ親しんでいました｡) ルナサンダルは､失礼な表現かも知れませんが､硬いビート板に乗っかっている感覚です｡ 街中では導入当初､足から顎まで劇的な衝撃を感じましたが､ 2～3週間位で衝撃が無くなるような歩き方に自然と変わりましたし､ 山中では木の根っこや小石を直接踏みつけても､痛みは全く有りません｡かなりガツガツ歩けます｡ そしてVibram MEGAGRIPというだけあって､ 乾いた斜面泥土上でのグリップは充分過ぎでがっつりと食いつき､ 濡らした状態ではキュッキュッではなくギューーギューーと グリップ音を発するくらいの強烈なグリップですので､ 一般的な登山靴とのグリップ差は無いように感じます｡溝の構造も問題無いです｡ ルナサンダルは､ベアフット系シューズの中では､靴底が割と分厚いですので､足の荷重移動が結構スムーズに出来ます｡ どういうことかというと､ ベアフット系シューズは着地した後に身体全体の前方荷重移動に伴って､ 足裏の荷重位置が時間的に移動するのですが､ ゼロシューズジェネシスや杵屋無敵足袋では､アッパーが無い上に薄いまたは靴底が非常に柔らかいが為に､ 踵を開始点とする荷重移動を行いにくい印象があり､ 足裏の荷重場所は中足部の横アーチ下を開始点､つまり､いわゆるフォアフットにとてもなりやすい印象です｡ フォアフットが悪いとは言いませんが､フォアフットは脹脛に対して負荷が非常に大きくなる為､ 逆に言えば､だからこそ足を鍛えられると言われている所以かと思います｡ (荷重移動ルートを変えようと頑張ってはみるのですが､足裏の反射的に､それを自然と行うには非常に難しい｡) 対してルナサンダルは靴底が分厚く硬いが為に踵部分に荷重を掛けやすく､ 踵の外側から小指側外側縦アーチを抜けて最後に拇指球辺りに荷重が綺麗に丸く抜ける感覚があります｡ この荷重移動が理想的だ､というyoutube動画が多いように思います｡ つまりは､シューズタイプ(=靴底薄さ)により､ 足裏反射に伴う荷重移動ルートや､それによる筋肉の使い方が違ってくる､と言えるかと思います｡ 但しこの辺は完全素人の個人的な見立てですので､あくまでただの参考ということでお願いします｡

ベアーフットに興味がある方には、とってもオススメです。サイズはジャストを（日本サイズ25•5ならUS7•5です）選ぶべし。初めての方なら紐の調整はいろいろ試して合う位置が必ずあります。元々、脚を「鍛える」サンダルなので馴れるまでは痛いです。そして疲れます。馴染んできたなら脚そのものが人間本来の状態になってきたサインです。（個人差有ります）ジョギングもスロー（1km8分位）で5km位からやってみると良いと思います。ハマると手放せませんよ（笑）

近所のおじさんがランニングに使用しているのを見て、犬の散歩用に購入しました。大体、6㎞程歩くので、どこか当たって擦りむくところも出るだろうと覚悟していましたが、履き始めから全くそのようなこともなく、実に快適です。サイズは、普段のスニーカーのサイズでOKと思います。とても解放感があります。気持ちいいです。濡れたタイルの上、鉄板の上などでのグリップは秀逸です。さすがビブラムソールですが、都内のアスファルト上で使用するのはもったいないかも。

ベアフット系のサンダルは初めて購入。まず持ってVibramメガグリップの信頼感は圧倒的です。タウンユースではオーバースペックですが、滑らないというゼロ次安全はサンダルでは逆に心強いメリットじゃないでしょうか。サイズはジャストで履くのが正解なので、自分のサイズに合うサイズを買ってこそのものです。ウィングドエディションでフィット感は追い込めますが、非常にシビアです。今だにポジションの正解を見つけてないように感じますが、それでも履くのも脱ぐのも歩くのも走るのも具合いいです。お勧めされるだけあります。

多少の雨でも走りたいけど、靴が濡れるの嫌だな。と思ったのでこちらを。 とはいえサンダルでランニングなんてできるの？ と半信半疑でしたが、十分使えました。なんならタイムが伸びたと言うか。 （変に気合が入ってたのもあるかもしれませんが） 5キロを30分で走り、多少足の痛みも感じましたが十分許容範囲。 もっと靴擦れみたいになるかと思ったけど。ならず。 路面を蹴る感じもあって、心地よい足裏の疲労感。 走るとパタパタ音がするけど、紐の調整次第かな。
