LG Tone Flex Wireless Bluetooth Stereo Neckband Earbuds HBS-XL7-32-Bit Hi-Fi DAC, Meridian Audio, Black

I have owned LG tone, tone active, and now the tone flex. I have also tried the skull candy ink'd as well as 3m worktunes. The worktunes aside for their in depth sound as the are also ear safety and block -24 decibels from environment. My power team was the Tone active with worktunes (one playing music the other tuned to vocal bands to hear talk on loud sites [with third party app]), now is the age of Flex. Sound quality with the meridian is clear and loud with the newly added treble boost to the Tones already awesome Equalizer. All my tones had bass boost function that was my original reason to buying the actives as well as the comfort and stay in place they offered. Now far better at it all the Flex offers best sound quality than those I have mentioned and even a little to noise cancellation above the active but nothing like the work tunes (cause they are built to), deep rich sound. They stay on the neck in a comfortable light weight feel far less constricting than the actives yet much better than most around neck styles. Power in the battery seems to last about 9 hours with medium (8) volume of continuous play. Lastly it may just be my phone but the Google assistant button will not work correctly however the double tap power/play button will still bring up the prompt. Otherwise in call clarity and wind cancel is great. Great idea having two mic's.

This headset is awesome. It makes it so easy when you’re at work and you could have it just wrapped around your neck and be able to still talk to people instead of having your phone on your ear.

This is a great headset however it the material around the actual headset starts to breakdown causing slits. Also, the right ear went out after a year.

I loved my HBS model for at least 3 years but I had a hard time finding them lately. Everyday use will break them eventually, I accept that. I really don't like Apple Airpods, and I like the around the neck style more than any other style. This model has better sound then the HBS, it feels way better around the neck and lighter, it's more flexible, the Bluetooth is solid when I have my phone in my pocket and I'm moving around (The HBS would cut out sometimes). The controls are a little different, but not something I can't get used to. The charger is now USB C, so be prepared for that.. I don't mind since my Ipad is like that on a plane. So far the battery life works for me, I listened to music for 6 hours and didn't need a charge. Call quality is the same, but I have not checked to see if background noise is better than HBS-910. I can highly recommend doing this purchase though, especially if you are looking to replace their older HBS-910 or similar model,

Hello neckband Bluetooth enthusiast! If your looking for a straight up honest review on the LG Tone Flex HBS-XL7 Bluetooth headset, you've clicked on the right review! I recently bought these headphones, the (LG Tone Flex HBS-XL7) after coming from using my LG Tone Ultra HBS-810's (which I love) for so many years. And after a few uses, I was disappointed with the results. The LG Tone Flex HBS-XL7 sound quality is HORRIBLE! Their using this new sound company called Meridian, come on! I've had JBL sound in my ears from my 810's and listening to the difference, JBL WINS HANDS DOWN! Now on the battery life, OMG the battery life, please pay attention reviewers! The battery life on the LG Flex HBS-XL7: Talk Time-8 hrs/ Play Time-10hrs / Standby Time-18 days. Now the battery life on the LG Tone Ultra HBS-810: Talk Time-17hrs/ Play Time-13hrs/ up to-550hrs or 23 days! This is not rocket science but the LG Tone Ultra HBS-810's is FAR WAY BETTER on battery life! Now, the controls on the LG Tone Flex HBS-XL7 are a little confusing if you used another set of Bluetooth's such as me for so long and I have to say that LG dropped the ball on that as well. Having the volume and skip working to together was a bad idea. I found myself driving (semi trucks) getting the buttons mixed up causing nothing but frustration and eventually taking these LG Tone Flex HBS-XL7 off my neck and I couldn't wait to get home to box them up and SEND THEM BACK! I didn't like holding down the power button not being able to tell if my Flex HBS-XL7 was on or not verses just a simple on and off switch like the LG Tone Ultra HBS-810's have. The only good thing I can say about the LG Tone Flex HBS-XL7 is the flexible neck band which feels really comfortable for all day use! Like I said, I couldn't wait to get home from work to box up my LG Tone Flex HBS-XL7 and return them back, that was such a good feeling and I'm glad I didn't just throw away my LG Tone Ultra HBS-810's which are in very good condition! I cleaned them off and personally told them "I'm sorry" lol! I always take great care of my Bluetooth headsets but now I'm taking EXTRA care of my LG Tone Ultra HBS-810's and even brought a extra pair of the LG Tone Ultra HBS-810's just incase something happens to the ones I already have, lol! I feel forced to buy these multiple times per year. They're the only decent quality retractable earbuds on the market that tailor to contractors and field techs. I need them for protecting my hearing while working on engines and listening to music and audiobooks. They last about 6 to 8 months with daily use and then the wires in the flex band break and the headset must be tossed. If they were around $60-70 this would be expected but they don't deliver good value for the price. The audio quality and sound level is better than any previous model (I've pretty much owned them all) and the battery will last all day. If you forget to charge them then a simple 15 minute top off will last you a couple hours. Calling is excellent in a silent environment while wearing a tee shirt. Background noise will make it hard to hear you, you must speak loudly if calling while driving and if you are wearing a collared shirt or a jacket the other party will have trouble hearing you (obviously - the mics need to be totally exposed). The catastrophic failure of this design is without dedicated back and forward buttons these just aren't great for listening to audiobooks. When you lose your place in your book, you'll have to whip out your phone and use the on screen controls because the multifunction volume buttons are just inadequate for seeking in 15 second intervals. The 32bit up-sampling is a bit of a bizarre marketing gimmick. Being able to change to lower latency codecs in phone settings or the app would be amazing for games or videos; nobody cares about 32 bit audio - it's literally a wireless headset not audiophile gear. There are no longer structural issues near the screws, that has been solved with the flex series. They're also AMAZINGLY water ingress resistant. I don't have to fear when wearing these outside in the rain. Parting wisdom: Just because they flex doesn't mean you should. Treat them with the same care you did the platinum plus models and they'll do okay. Electrical tape on the band is no longer required. Also good luck warrantying these. The serial number sticker fell off my second week wearing them.

I can't imagine using my cellphone without these. They hide away very nicely beneath my collared shirts, the sound has got decent bass and nice high and midrange, so they're good for listening to music, but using them to talk on the phone is where they really shine. You can answer the phone with the push of a button. I can leave my phone in my bedroom and answer calls from anywhere in the house! I have never had a caller complain that they can't hear me, like some other headsets I have had. They come to a full charge in just about 15 minutes and keep working for 8 or so hours! Also, the ear buds retract very nicely without fuss. I really wouldn't have any other headset out there.

I have a hearing problem and had another model LG headset which I had broken. I was told by LG that this model would be compatible with our LG TV. At first, in setting it up I encountered an issue with the headset only being satisfactory in either Bluetooth Only or TV Sound Only. If it was in dusa mode, I could only hear a whisper in the earbuds. Trying various settings I was becoming very frustrated but finally found where I could select between Surround Sound or something that suggested Non-Surround Sound. When I selected the Non-Surround Sound the volume in the earbuds was suddenly working. Then I adjusted the Bluetooth volume to a higher setting and everything was working perfectly for me. Now my wife can listen to ther TV volume and I can use my headset and we are both comfortable being in the same room. I highly recommend this headset but you really need to try the various settings to make it do what you want it to.

Let me say that 1 star is too much for this product, if I can return it back I would, I am in Dubai, had purchased the item from Amazon.ae but the shipment is from US, so they will cover only 50AED shipping refund, while I have to pay 200AED shipping cost. The sound is so terrible, the retractable system is not working at all, this is totally a rip-off. I had a previous version and the sound was very good, the retractable system was working just fine, the material was so bad it had broken, that is why I made this dreadful order.

These things rock! Google assistant is pretty annoying if you have an iPhone but the rest of it can’t be faulted. The buttons are a similar concept to the original iPhone headphones where you click the button twice to go forward and three times to go back The sound quality is good enough for my tone deaf ears and I’ve been told the sound quality of the microphones when I’m on hands free calls is way better than the my platinum 1100’s Plus the last ones broke because they kept getting stuck around my bag when I tried to take it off so the flex is a win! If you want top of the line wireless headphones, go spend the $500+ that they’re worth, otherwise, these rock

I wanted a bluetooth headset that could stay connected to two devices at once: 1) windows PC (MS surface Pro) for remote working with MS Teams and WebEx meetings, 2) cell phone for phone calls (Samsung S9+) It works perfectly for the above use without any switching needing to be done by me BUT getting it setup was not intuitive. If you are trying to do similar, here are the high level steps: 1) turn on headset into pairing mode first time - pair to Windows 2) turn off headset 3) turn on headset into pairing mode (hold on button for 4 seconds) and pair with phone 4) after pairing with phone, goto Windows PC and connect headset from blue tooth devices again. In my case, the above sequence was important. It would not work if I paired the phone first but your mileage may vary. Btw, the mike sounds amazing on this for meetings and phone calls. I do not use Google assistant so that is a wasted feature for me but apparently this model has better microphone than the one without google assistant so it is worth the extra dollars. The unit is very comfortable just hanging around my neck and i only use the ear buds for phone calls (use the pc speakers for audio output and the headset for microphone only) I am very happy with this product and feel that multipoint bluetooth should be push much more by headset manufactures than they are now. It is a great feature that i didn't even know existed until this past month. Good luck
