Alarm Clock Radio, Digital AM FM Clock Radio for Bedrooms or Livingroom

Since I am forced to give a star rating in order to release this comment, I have given it one . . . but this is not a review of the clock radio, since I will not even plug it in until I hear back from Amazon, and likely will be returning it anyway. I was surprised to open the delivery envelope and find a box and enclosed unit with not a single marking on it as to who made it (the Amazon listing says "Ponwel," but a google search comes up with no such company). I then looked at the little instruction pamphlet - not only is there no manufacturer listed anywhere, but there is a comment from the "Customer Service Center" to contact them with any questions; however, there is no telephone number or e-mail address for this supposed Center. Likewise, under "Warranty," it says "We provide return, replace service (sic) and technology support for this alarm clock radio," but who is "WE," and how would one contact them in any case? There is not a shred of identifying or contact information anywhere.I liked the reviews for this clock radio, and decided to buy it to replace another that I got from Amazon with exactly the same complete lack of contact information or company attribution. At the time, I decided to keep the prior unit anyway, and now am throwing it out because it just suddenly stopped working - and I have no recourse to get help to try to figure out what's wrong. It seems crazy to make the same mistake again - even for $21.99! Both radios were made in China - but that's no excuse for even Amazon to sell products that don't come with any identifying or contact information, so customers are left completely helpless when they stop working!!

I bought this clock radio to replace a much nicer one than quit working after about 35 years. In my estimation, the shortcoming for this radio is the speaker sound. Nevertheless, I wake to morning news and lay in bed listening for a few minutes, so its not intolerable. You can't really expect great sound for 20 bucks. The radio seems to receive all the local stations the metro area. Its easy to program. The numbers are tall and easy for me to read without my glasses. The display is bright, even at low intensity. At first I thought it was too bright, but I've adjusted to it. If you wake in the middle of the night the radio does sort of function as a night lite. All in all, I'm happy, just don't expect too much.

First of all, both my husband and I were very surprised at the size of the radio. Since I ordered it, I guess I didn't read the description about the length/height/width. This radio is probably only 6 inches long, if that (we didn't measure it). It is what we would call "tiny," but it's "mighty!" It was easy to set up (compared to another brand, which we had for about 2 years and never used it for wake up because it was too complicated). The numbers on the face are big and bright (good for seniors like us) and the quality of the sound of the radio is excellent. For the price paid, this is an excellent purchase.

If you are looking for large, bright numbers, this is the clock for you. The white numbers are big, which I wanted. But the brightness is more than I expected. I set it to the dimmer light, but it still lights up the bedroom to a certain extent. I also was interested in a good radio, which this is not. I can receive very few stations, even with the antenna wire spread out. I haven’t used the alarm yet, so I can’t speak to that.

instructions did not have vol control but i found it. radio on/off then hour/vol +-.

Even in "Dim" setting, display is way too bright. Most clock radios use red or green or some other color for the clock display. This radio uses white. It looks like a "night light" in my bedroom.

Only problem is switching from AM to FM. Good sound in a small package.

It’s a bright simple alarm clock. A little too bright even with dimmer. The radio isn’t the best but it works.
