I have a 2025 Colorado ZR2 with the 5’2” bed I did a lot of research what bed extender to get. For the cost this is fantastic. I was worried about some of the reviews saying it’s a loose fit. But rest assured this is secured after you tie down what ever you need to it won’t shake or budge. Some of the cons of this extender doesn't come with hitch pin. Also tie down points are a little small and not to many points to begin with. Last thing is the pins that put this together isn’t lockable so make sure install it when you need it or someone can walk away with it. Now for the pros sturdiness this is fantastic works great. Easy to put together and extremely portable. I leave it in my bed against my cab that way I have it with me if I ever need it. Alignment after putting it in the hitch is spot on. The cost is great for what you get. Looks to be powder coated so should last a long time. So overall this is a great purchase if I can figure a way to make those pins lockable this would be a 10 star unit all day.

I’ve been very happy with the MaxxHaul 70231 Hitch Mount Truck Bed Extender. It has two configurations, although so far I’ve only used the shorter setup. I drive a Tacoma with a 5-foot bed, and it works perfectly for hauling my extension ladder and half bundles of EMT. The extender is solid and doesn’t feel cheaply made at all. It assembled easily and has worked exactly as expected. I also purchased the MaxxHaul 70050 Trailer Hitch Lock based on another reviewer’s recommendation. Some reviews mention that the extender can feel a little loose. That’s technically true, but this isn’t like a rigid trailer hitch. Because the extender has a couple of sections, a little play actually makes sense. If it were completely rigid it could potentially put more stress on the components. Overall the quality has been very good and it’s been a great solution for hauling longer materials with a short bed truck. If you have a Tacoma or any short-bed pickup and occasionally need to carry ladders, conduit, lumber, or similar materials, this works really well. Very happy with the purchase.

Very well built, easy to assemble, works as advertised!

For price, was very happy with this item. Works very well for one or two kayaks on the back of the truck. Pretty lightweight and is sturdy enough. Very easy to set up and fits well with my dodge ram 1500. Only thing is the top two corners always dig into the side of the kayaks and worry me that they will puncture the sides so I’ve had to make some at home adjustments. But aside of this it’s a good product and has been used pretty frequently.

I purchased this bed extender for my short bed Nissan Frontier to help safely transport my new 11ft kayak, works great! Nice piece of mind driving on hwy knowing you cargo is safely secure. For the reviews that complain about the loose wobble I removed all the loose quick release pins and replaced them all with stainless steel bolts and lock nuts to prevent wobble and theft. I've been securing my camper trailer hitch to the receiver on my truck like this for years. I made a couple inexpensive additions to protect my kyack hull and sides from the steel, a $0.97 cent pool noodle and a cut piece of old door mat rug. Try it, you'll like it

Extremely useful. Heavy duty steel and built stout. Very fast to install and plenty of adjustability. Was able to carry a lot of long lumber (12 and 16 footers) with my SUV. Definitely put it to the test. The orange flag is good and sturdy and follows the regulations in my state. Very good for the price. The only minor things was that with the current pins, it is a little wobbly and can be a little crooked, but still very sturdy. Also, it was missing a hitch pin for my hitch receiver.

Excellent design, engineering, and quality ! The product does everything as shown in the pictures. It is super easy to install and uninstall. With the sections it allows you to assembly and move sections of it to make it lighter. Well thought out and makes transporting my Kayak a dream!

I got this to help haul lighter materials like fence panels without hooking to a trailer. I was able to haul 16 foot panels in an 8 foot truck bed without any difficulty.

I couldn’t be happier with this item. It is very sturdy and easy to assemble and install. Literally took about 2.5 minutes to unpackage and assemble. I’m surprised at the ruggedness of the extender considering what I paid for it. I bought it for my Titan crew cab which only has a 5’8” box, to carry lumber and our kayaks. It’ll do that and more. In fact, I just brought home ten 6x6x14 fence posts and it worked perfectly. I’m pretty rough on gear but this will meet my needs. Can’t believe it was only $85 CDN. Nice to see companies making good products at reasonable prices. I’ll buy more of their stuff.

The item took 5 minutes to install, very easy, amazing!! However the product didn’t provide a safety hitch pin for tow bar recipient area. This caused huge problems as I had to rush to a hardware store late evening to ensure I could take my kayaks out!!
