It works very well.
I can not travel to the store for this and it seems odd to order something this small. But I had no choice. It is in use and went in easily.

Snug fit
Found out that my wall is 2 layers thick of cement board over sheetrock but this still fit just fine.

Very good choice for low voltage cable routing. Very solid plastic, and sturdy mount.
This Cable passthrough wall plate is a good choice if you want to run low volting wiring like speaker wires, camera wires, or tv cables behind your wall. First off, the mounting bracket is excellent and does its job very well. You can mount the white plate without the bracket, but if you want a good, solid, secure mount you should definitely install the bracket. Just mark where you need to cut using the bracket and a pencil, then cut out the hole at the same height as other nearby outlets (be careful not to hit electrical wiring), and slide the bracket into place. The wings swing into place, and two phillips screws lock it in place against the wall. Then take the wall plate and place it with the "chute" facing in or out (I prefer putting it into the wall to save space), and put screw in the included standard out screws. Easy as it gets. One thing I did notice about this set, is that the white wall plate is very thick, and doesn't look exactly like a standard electrical outlet or switch plate. The edges are very thick, and it's got a rough texture. Most outlets are smooth and the edges round off against the wall. If you want it to match your other outlets, pick a different wall plate. That beings said, this one is much more durable than the others that are available. The plastic is very thick and it would take a lot to break it, unlike other which are thin and could be broken from overtightening the screws. If you flip it around and install it with the chute out, it will protect the cable from pinching.

Almost perfect
I bought these to tidy up the tangle of cables going to and from my 70" Vizio TV that I mounted to the wall. Installing these was super easy, even though I haven't done anything like that before. The only negative aspect of these is the screws that attach the brackets to the wall protrude pretty far into the wall cavity and get in the way of the cables that are being routed through them. The easiest way I found to use them is to cut holes for them and test the fit of the brackets, then run your wires through the wall and then install the mounting brackets and wall plates. I have a power cord, fairly bulky HDMI cable, toslink optical cable and 3 cat5e cables all going though these. There is still a bit of room left, and I'll be running 2 channels of 12 AWG speaker wire through them eventually as well. It makes what would be a huge mass of wires invisible. Maybe someday they'll figure out a way to make the screws in the mounting brackets less intrusive.Pros: inexpensive, easy to install, gives a finished appearance to routing cables through the wallCons: screws in the mounting brackets intrude into the opening that the cables pass through, possibly causing snags, definitely getting in the way.If you have more cables than those I listed in my setup, get the double gang.

Life is better with this product
I wanted to run my home theater cabling inside the walls and over the ceiling, which required some type of finished terminals for the speaker ends. This bracket was ideal to cut into the various locations in the ceiling and walls, then add a single gang plate for the jacks, thus allowing me with a short run from the speakers using banana plugs. There isn't much need for a single gang box since the entire installation is low voltage. Anyone possessing rudimentary carpentry skills should be able to do the job fairly readily. I recommend that you cut the holes just a little undersized, then trim to fit taking care to ensure that the tops and bottoms are parallel and square with the two sides of each bracket. It helps to be certain that the holes are well marked before making the cuts with a good drywall saw so as to avoid oddly shaped holes and out of plumb work. Of course, you can patch it up afterward, however that takes time. I might mention that I looked at mounting brackets at my local hardware/lumber mass merchandiser when I did the installation and found their solutions to be about 4 times the cost and inferior in quality and utility. (They just happen to have orange as one of their corporate colors.) It did take a few days for UPS ground to deliver, however it takes a while to do all the prep work and get the cable runs in place anyway, so you'll likely be just about ready for them when they arrive. Good product and the seller was responsive.

You can do it!
I needed to run cables from my new entertainment center up through the wall to my new wall mounted tv. Since I can turn a screw driver, swing a hammer, set up my home entertainment system, change a flat and I have worked for a large home improvement store, I just couldn't see myself paying someone else to run the cables. When I read the instructions on how to install this, I was pretty confident that I could do it on my own. So I ordered it along with a very sharp Sabertoothed knife that is required to cut into drywall. But then it arrived and that Sabertoothed knife looked very scary. I was all of a sudden afraid of the damage that I could do to my drywall. Then I decided I was not going to chicken out now. So I just followed the instructions (sweating like crazy because I WAS chicken) and guess what? It was cake! Just turn the thing backwards, trace the inside with a pencil and use a drywall saw to cut along the lines. And voila! Insert it into the opening, lightly pound it into place. Then attach the face and you're done! I was so proud of my work that I left the entertainment center off to the side for a few days so everyone could observe my handy work!

Good low voltage bracket!
Would absolutely buy again. Had to install a low voltage bracket for an HRV. The old control was just mounted in the drywall and was very close to a stud. This bracket fit the bill because the securing levers and bracket design allow install in a tight space. Flexible yet strong.

Paneling now and drywall later...
This product was super easy to install. Installed in 3/16" paneling and will be very easy to reuse when paneling is upgraded to 1/2" drywall. Used this with the Monoprice Keystone Wall plate and everything fit together perfectly!
