for a possible 2nd edition
The text is in three sections: Identification and organization, interpretation and analysis, and integration and synthesis. The latter two are especially strong, and include excellent interpretive techniques that make midpoints more readily available to a wider audience. Also included is valuable material on the Aries point; it's a sensitive spot that deserves attention.Less strong is the identification and organization section. This is understandable because by their very bounteous nature midpoints can easily be overwhelming. What would prove valuable in a possible second edition is access to a midpoint sort program designed to strengthen the identification and organization section by relying on two standard facets of aspect theory. They are orb and multiple emphasis -i.e. conjunctions are thought to be more important than sensitive points, and stellia hold greater significance than conjunctions.Mr. Broom suggests that midpoints themselves hold tension. A more likely explanation is that the tension comes from the hard aspects that activate various midpoints; a sort is easily designed to show midpoints that are activated by soft aspects, i.e. akin to squares and trines etc.A typical chart holds 2 to 4 midpoint aspect patterns; a comprehensive understanding of these groupings will yield results little short of amazing. This book will help. (Kindle version works for me...)

Wonderful clarity
This book is fabulous. Don took a confusing topic (at least to me) and explained midpoints in such a way that they made full sense. Additionally, I can clearly see now how looking at the midpoint picture in a person's horoscope can be put to practical use in helping a client understand their potential and accomplish their goals and ambitions.Don's book is not only a wonderful and educational read on the topic of midpoints, but he brings clarity to the planets symbolism, sheds life on their polarity, and shows how simple the process of chart delineation can be.This book is well-written, no extra tedious or confusing verbiage, with just the right amount of explanation to cause the reader many ah-ha moments. I hope to see many more books by Don in the future.

Midpoints not a mystery any longer!
For many astrologers midpoint pictures are a mystery. A seemingly busy forest of confusion. But not anymore! Don's book takes you step by step through the forest, revealing the most important underlying trees. Aware that "people make things happen - not planets" Don demonstrates how these trees, our midpoint energies, are used to resolve our needs. It's not another book of descriptions that you have to memorize. If you're an astrologer you already have the "raw materials" needed to understand and process a midpoint picture. But what you're probably missing is a simple, structured, humanistic formula that allows your mind to use what it knows. And in this Don's book excels!I whole-heartedly give this book two thumbs up!

I enjoyed the layering I was able to discern through midpoints ...
This book really opened my eyes to a broader perspective of astrology.Don really makes this topic very understandable. However, it definitely isnot for the faint of heart! Understanding astrology at this level can be overwhelming if one has not prepared. This book allows for us to take ourknowledge to a whole new level of expertise. I enjoyed the layering I wasable to discern through midpoints and in turn gave me more info than whatI had hoped for...

Midpoints explained by a modern American astrologer.
After all these decades someone has written something that can replace the "COSI" - Reinhold Ebertin's "The Combination Of Stellar Influences". It is as reviewed by "The Mountain Astrologer Magazine", if you caught that review. I do believe Ebertin's "COSI" would still be useful to use like a dictionary of midpoints because of the way it is laid out and the time tested accuracy of it's interpretations.

OK, but a lot of unnecessary info
It did help me to understand midpoints better, but way too much space is devoted to analyzing public figures' midpoints, which when taken out of the context of their natal chart, are irrelevant. Also, way too much technical jargon and the chauvinistic tone was offsetting.

A useful reference if you are looking for lots of celebrity ...
A useful reference if you are looking for lots of celebrity examples. The interpretation section would have been enhanced by a Synastry chapter
