Endowed with Power: How Temple Symbols Guide Us to Christ's Atonement: Temple Symbolism and the Atonement of Christ Paperback – August 8, 2017

I have read and reread Dr. Line's book "Endowed With Power" and I learn something new every time! I have attended the temple for over 40 years and was shocked to realized that I have missed so many symbolic connections. My temple experience has been greatly enriched since reading "Endowed With Power". This book is like a dear friend who guides you through the symbols of the temple in a very sacred way, and just as Christ is the center of the temple, Christ is also at the center of this book. Out of his own study and scholarship, Dr. Line maintains the sacredness of symbolism but still gives us answers and insights with crystal clarity. He writes in a very reader friendly way so that even young people can understand. I appreciated Dr. Line's sensitivity to the sacred nature of temple symbols. I have quoted from this book as a Seminary, Institute and Temple Prep teacher. I believe that this book should be required reading not only for every prospective temple patron, but also for anyone, member or not, who is curious about the many noticeable and not so obvious symbols of Mormon temples.

The insight in this book is so valuable as one coming to the temple for the first time, coming back after a long absence or for one who routinely has that temple as part of his/her life! Thank you!m brother Line!

OHMYGOODNESS!!! I have read and studied about the gospel for a very long time. Robert Line is a phenomenal teacher and brings awareness and understanding to one's gospel understanding. I used this book as a supplemental tool in teaching my institute students about the symbols of the temple. I took my students on a field trip to the SLC temple wherein we discussed many points from Rob's book. I cannot tell you how many students were positively affected by the information contained herein! One girl actually jumped up and down after reading a specific chapter! Several students downloaded this book on the spot!This book will change your life and the way you approach the temple. Your understanding will reach new heights and your heart will swell with gratitude! This book is a fantastic tool for missionary prep as well as the seasoned member.This book is a MUST HAVE for anyone who wants to learn more about God's plan for His children - and the way back to our heavenly home!Well done, Rob!

This book provides interesting food for thought which is easily digested with the referenced scriptures. The author's in depth discussions are very readable (some may quibble with his wording) and contain some intriguing insights. Most important it makes the reader want to return to the temple often to ponder again with a new perspective.

I have read many books about the temple - architecture, symbolism, history, doctrine, etc. I found this remarkable book very readable, insightful and to the point. Dr. Line has a very clear style of writing that comes from his career as a teacher of young people. This book may be helpful for those preparing to receive their temple ordinances, but will be, in my opinion, even more helpful for those more mature in their temple experience and knowledge who are seeking deeper understanding. It contains profound insights into the central doctrines of the sacred temple ordinances discussed in a clear, appropriate and doctrinally sound way with a focus on the Atonement of the Savior and the Plan of Salvation and Exaltation. This book is a valuable contribution to Church literature on understanding and appreciating the holy temple ordinances. I highly recommend it and have already given several copies to others.

Robert Line does such a great job of explaining everything from the Fall to the Power of God throughout this book. It is simultaneously simple to understand and deep in its explanations and understanding. I think his explanations should be basic temple preparation (especially the first half of the book); however, I think all of us can benefit from the discussions and information delineated in this book. I have referenced it in a variety of settings including my High Priest lessons and youth Sunday School lessons. Please read it and enjoy like I did!

I have enjoyed this book and the author's focus on the Atonement of Jesus Christ symbolism and teaching in the temple. Well done. Thought provoking without being weird. Meshes well with other similar books but focus on the Atonement of Jesus Christ was a great direction instead of just straight Hebrew symbolism.

This was really lovely! I only wish it went into greater detail about each topic discussed. There were so many beautiful themes that really helped me understand the temple better. I suppose it’s up to me, to now go search out the greater details for myself:)
