Product Description PHCC WATER ALARM From the Manufacturer Minimize the risk of water damage with this early warning system For installation in sump pits or near areas requiring water monitoring like hot water heaters, air conditioners, washing machines or under sinks. Requires a 9-volt battery (Sold separately). Solid state circuitry is extremely sensitive and reliable. Detects water only 1/32-Inch deep when the alarm is placed on the floor. The Sensor has a 6-foot wire so it can be extended into a sump pit, or mounted on a wall and stretched to another location. (Accommodates the addition of more than 100 feet of wire, if needed). Loud 110dB alarm can be heard throughout the house. Very sensitive to water -- just what you want

Not sure what's "pro" about this...
I ordered this, and the "Glentronics, Inc. BWD-HWA Basement Watchdog Water Sensor and Alarm" (no "pro"). They are exactly the same, except for the sticker on the outside. They both work fine, but I recommend saving a few bucks, and getting the "Glentronics, Inc. BWD-HWA Basement Watchdog Water Sensor and Alarm". Follow up 8/30/15 - They still work very well, but they are really sensitive. I have them in my sump pump area, and I often get false alarms when the humidity gets high enough to make the sensors damp. For the price, they are still a great value, but I wish I could adjust the sensitivity.

Buy the cheapest one.
I put one by my sump pump pit and one behind the washing machine. I tested it on a wet countertop and, yep, it works. I bought two that looked the same from Amazon, different manufacturers, one was eleven bucks and one was nine bucks; they look and work identically, so go for the cheapest one and buy yourself a Tastee-Freez with the difference.

Loud enough if you are within a reasonable distance.
Works very well, but I added an inexpensive baby monitor to ensure I hear it. The monitor guards the area around the basement water heater and sump, and we sleep two floors up. As loud as it is, the baby monitor is necessary if you are a few floors away as I am.

Good product although i dont like that the sensor tucks ...
Good product although i dont like that the sensor tucks away into like a battery compartment once taken out leaves the unit exposed to moisture from underneath. also very bulky. positive it stands on its own and doesn't have to be mounted battery compartment isnt the best. you have to take a thin object and push the battery out from underneat. insted they should have put the battery on the bottom.

It's a good product.
I had one already,but needed two more.One by the washing machine,and one by the water heater.Reason I wanted thet make was because,the one we have works so well. When you have something that's works good stay with it.Would rate it a 10.

great for peace of mind
great for peace of mind! You'll know if you have a water leak where you put these little buggers cuz they scream when they come in contact with water . which is great because our water heater is pretty far away from the rest of the house.

Work as expected
We purchased two units. They shipped fast and we received them within one week. We tested them before using and they both work. They emit an audible tone that is loud enough to hear if you're in the surrounding area. They work as expected and we have no issue with them.

A Sound You Do Not Want To Hear
The Glentronics, Inc. PWA PHCC Pro Series Water Sensor and Alarm is a superb instrument, that every home owner should own. Putting this unit in any likely place where a water leak could possibly occur is like having an insurance policy that you do not have to reinstate annually. If you have ever endured the heartache of water where you do not want it, you will really appreciate having this unit on guard for you.. I am surprised that Insurance companies do not supply or at least demand that you acquire at least one of these superb units. Simplicity , quality & reasonably priced are but a few of the attributes of this excellent piece of equipment. Do not wait order it now !!!!!!!!!! Paul

Works good.
Simple to use. I set it up with a remote power supply (powered from a charger) so I wouldn't have to monitor the batteries. Works good.

Works Great
Purchased this to set by my water heater, as well as my water cooler. So far so good. Hopefully i don't ever hear them.

Pleased with unit.
The product arrived on time; no issues with ordering or delivery. I tested it out and it works fine. If I have one criticism it would be that I think the price is a bit too high. These should be around $10 each.
