National Hardware Eye Bolt N245-167, 1/2 in x 6 in, Galvanized Forged Steel

Adequately machined Galvanized eye bolt (1/2" x 6") provides a very strong and sturdy anchor point. Inside eye opening measures right at 1-inch. Comes with appropriate nut. After installation, I cut about an inch of the bolt off with hacksaw - without too much difficulty.

Arrived on time. Had to trim a little off. Did the job for some boat work.

Well made. These appear to be very well made and should last and be effective for my application for a long time to come.

The description says it is 7/16-14. The thread sizes 1/2-13. It didn’t make any difference for my application - I kept it - but the description of a 1/2” eye bolt is and does mean the thread size is 1/2-13.

Not sure if the weight rating is accurate but I have used about 60 of these so far with no issues and the gal is heavy enough they do not rust if set in concrete.

Used to hang a 3,000 # sign.

Seems very sturdy and well made. Haven't lifted an elephant with it yet, maybe next month. Did use it to hoist a sled with a bundle of shingles up a ladder to the roof.

There is no washer included.

Came with a label saying it was not suitable for supporting human weight despite one of the advertised uses being suspending a hammock. On a positive note the Amazon return process is excellent and very easy. The machining of the eye was a little rough and I’d have wanted to smooth the edges if I was using it with a rope or anything which might be damaged by a sharp edge.

Je m'en sers pour monter les billes de bois de 12 pieds sur mon trailer avec un treuil et des billots de 5 ou 600 lbs ne leur font pas peur. Aucune déformation, les filets et les écrous sont restés en parfait état . Très satisfait.
