no cover or sleeve, it fits perfect though in a crown royal bag, it is almost like it was made for it

Can this be used with a prescriotion glasses?

my 94 yr old mother uses it with NO glasses You can make it has bright as you want and move the glass closer or further away to work for you

Can this be put right on a paperback when reading in bed?

Technically yes but you will get very little magnification if you do this. For the magnification to be effective, there needs to be some distance between the magnifier and the text. Turning on the LED lights might help make the paperback more readable even without magnification.
