The only thing I’ve noticed is if they wee over a spot they’ve already wee’d on, it’ll breakdown and can leak through the plastic backing. I buy the XL size for my Chihuahua because she doesn’t always “land” correctly, so the big size is a huge help. It protects my floor from her little accidents when we aren’t home, during the night and when she refuses to go out in the rain.
